The most universally well-known track on the whole album, and I might say, the whole series of Pure Garage. MC Neat doing the business over the top of DJ Luck’s smooth control of the events on his turntables. Bitin’ Back – She’s Breakin’ Up After the best part of a minute contesting the song with Luck & Neat, this song develops into a real room shaker, never before appearing in the PG series. There are no real lyrics to speak of, except a couple of samples. De La Soul – All Good (MJ Cole Mix) Old Skool hip hop group De La Soul team up with Chaka Khan on this effort to bring a remix of their recent hit ‘All Good’. Pure Garage Four to the floor

Advantages: Todd Edwards on the mix
Disadvantages: Bit old now but still an essential purchase

If you like garage music or indeed the producer Todd Edwards, then this really is the dream team collaboration. Todd Edwads is a legendary producer from New Jersey who has massively influenced the garage scene in the UK from the early nineties with DJ EZ being one of the main DJ's who showcased his music here is the UK. I purchased this CD a few years ago from Amazon and it still gets a spin occasionally taking me back to my raving days in my youth. The 1st CD consists of tunes DJ EZ has picked which were all influential at that time( CD released 2003) including his legendary intro's which are normally played only at clubs. It also fetures tracks by the legend that is MJ Cole with Talkbox, an absolute belter. However my favourite from CD 1 has to be Zack Toms - Bring Me Down(Stanton Warriors Mix) which has a sweet vocal and then drops ...

Where It All Began

's favourite, DJ EZ? Kicking things off is one of Ez's numerous intros and boy, does it set the tone of things to come, full of energy, this really lets you know what to expect from the next thirty seven tracks. As EZ chops, cuts, blends and scratches his way through some great classic tracks which are a good representation of the UK Garage scene at the turn of the millennium: Tony Momrelle's version of the Alexander O'Neal's 'If You Were Here Tonight' is an excellent example of how to do a cover version without massacaring the original. Momrelle's take on this track is equally as soulful as O'Neal's but injects it with some energy. This is a real summer tune. E.S. Dub's 'Standard Hoodlum Issue' (more commonly known as Reflex Action Like A Snake due to the vocal sample) has such a distinctive and powerful bassline that I think anyone would ...
