?Ripgroove? by Double 99 was released commercially around the same time as this compilation was out and did fairly well. It is one of the few UK Garage tracks to do well in the mainstream during this period. Double 99 consisted of Omar Adimora and Tim Liken (who went on to achieve huge mainstream success as Tim Deluxe). The original version of this track was an early example of what evolved into speed garage but this particular mix (Tuff Jam) was pure underground UK Garage. The beats were choppy and the bass was heavy, perfect club music.

Rephlexions (variousartists) is the next installment of compilation albums on the Rephlex record label. It features another set of tracks by the key players on the label and is equally as good as the first compilation (Braindance (variousartists)) The sounds are spaced out emotional and very original explorations of electronia. The CD kicks off with some mellow keys on which glitchy drum and bass future breaks are laid on top. The second tracks goes straight into a gentle industrial clanking atmosphere where a glimmering machine sits in a castle basement, blue light floods through the window in the middle of the night, the machine gets more energy as the track progresses.All the tracks seem to have concepts behind them waiting to be discovered. An album of remixed Phil Collins tracks performed by r&b and hip hop artists. Risky, seeing as the man himself as churned out classic after classic and as you can imagine it wasnt well received by, well anyone.
I did however purchase because i like Phil Collins and i like hip hop & r&b so i took a chance. I should have spent my money on buying that indoor ten pin bowling set instead. Saying that there is a couple of decent tunes on here but as a whole, not the greatest ive spent my money on
