With three cds and over three hours of music, Pure Garage Platinum brings together the best sounds of the five preceding Pure Garage albums stretching back to 2000, whilst adding a few ‘new’ songs along the way. There are 50 tracks, presented on three black compact discs with futuristic silver and blue fonts, which match the colours on the box of the set itself. There is no specific feel to each disc but the third disc features the most new material.
From the 50 tracks on the album, only of 13 them are new, so only 25% of the total. Having said that, the other 75% span five double-cd boxed sets so it is difficult to say whether it is worth buying. For someone who wants to know more about, or get into, the garage scene and wants a good summary of the last three years of garage music, you can’t go wrong with this. If ...

?s disolussion in 1995. Their music is well-known for Knopfler?s unique style of guitar playing, which is achieved by ?picking? at the strings. You can hear his terrific guitar work in most of the songs on this CD. That, combined with his unique vocal style, is what makes the band?s sound so distinctive.
?Theverybest of? contains some of Dire Straits? most well-known songs, although, in my opinion, there are a few songs that should have made the cut. I guess you can?t have everything though, and this CD gives a great overview of their sound. There are sixteen tracks on the CD. Three are live, and the others are studio versions. I will attempt to give a brief explanation of each track, but of course this is all very subjective. I urge you to listen to the CD yourself, and make up your own mind.

Gotta Hold Over Me - Coko. Poor song. In my opinion Coko isnt the most gifted singer and you can tell on this track. Not one of Phils greatest and not one of Coko's either
I Dont Care Anymore - Kelis. Produced by the Neptunes, this is a harsh track with an 'I Hate You So Much Right Now' shouty feel to it. You would either love or hate this
Cant Turn Back The Years - Joe. Not to disimilar to the original and it works. The best track on the album, Joes voices gives this tune so much credit. It really does work. Quality
Do You Remember - Debelah Morgan. Poor again, she has a good voice and it comes through but the production is not great and its a big let down
Against All Odds - Montell Jordan. This is worse than the Westlife version. Its just not very good
