Advantages: Very mixed styles on this album, great musicianship Disadvantages: The vocals are not particularly great but are quite clean actually
Over the last two years Trigger the Bloodshed have become the most well known new English death metal outfit to have made a release, the new kids on the block so to speak - so I was a bit surprised to find a review of the band's album on a metalhead forum, being described as "wannabes" and had to check it out for myself.
Purgation, the band's debut album was released om August, just 2 months after the band signed to Metal Blade Records. The Bristol ... ...album with even a tracklist to make small children cry and adults wince. The band makes up for their rather innocent looking album cover with an evil volcano eruption of a record with fine production and plenty going on, definitely enough to keep the occupier listening throughout, particularly considering the short length of the tracks and just to mix things up a bit there is a bit of variation with a few other styles sneaking in on some tracks.
