Advantages: Some amazing songs Disadvantages: Others just don't work
...I have had this album for quite a while now, and wanted to do a review from day one. The only thing stopping me was the fact that when I'm writing an op, I always make sure I know the product I'm reviewing and put first opinions to one side. So, finally, here's my opinion.
Packt Like Sardines In A Crushd Tin Box is a funky upbeat track, with a lot of percussion and another great Thom soundbite to add to the collection: "I'm a reasonable man, get off my case". I'm sorry Thom, but being on your case is kind of what writing an opinion is all about, I'll get off when I'm finished.
Pyramid Song has, for me, been the undoubtedly the best single of the year, sounding almost tribal, with great keyboard from Thom and excellent strong vocals in there aswell. Outstanding.
Pull\Pulk Revolving Doors is attempting to be the Kid A of Amnesiac...

Advantages: A Powerfull and Impressive Record By Any Bands Standards Disadvantages: Not Quite Impressive Enough For Me
...of it in the Kings Chamber of the Great Pyramid in Egypt (Obviously) were only adding to the anticipation. Interviews at the time gave the impression that tensions within the band were high again with Youth complaining that Jaz and Geordie were threatening him with bottles during the production of the album. All this made for really entertaining reading in the press and did nothing to abate my excitement at the prospect of this album coming out…………….
Once I got it I was forced with a long bus journey home fondling the CD cover in anticipation as I had done with so many Killing Joke albums before, I had also bought a bottle of McAllen to enhance my listening pleasure and headache potential for thos I lived with. Slapping it onto the CD player and cranking up the amp with a glass of generously poured very expensive single malt in my hand I was ready...

Advantages: Knives Out, Amnesiac, just a plain great album! Disadvantages: Enemies of Kid A will hate this...
...RADIOHEAD | AMNESIAC | 11TRACKS
:: SIMILAR ARTISTS * Aphex Twin / Underworld
After Radiohead shocked the world with Kid A, the experiment with electronic music, they return with a second CD of music from the same sessions as Kid A. Unfortunately, there seems to be a little less thought about Amnesiac, and that is shown by some of the tracks which, in my opinion are mixed. Tracks like the Pyramid Song, Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box and Knives Out are amazing feats of work, but then there are tracks like Pulk / Pull Revloving Doors, which I just can't stand listening to.
For those who don't know what happened before the Kid A experiment, they had made one of the worlds greatest albums, OK Computer, which was a complete masterpiece. That was '97. Last year, they followed it up with the shocking departure to the electronic...

Album Notes: Pyramids: R. Loren, M. Kraig, D. William, M. Dean.
Album Reviews: The Wire (p.53) - "[The] hybrid of oceanic, meta-pop obfuscation and Metal's wintry propulsion continues throughout the album, with wailing vocals and psychophonic guitar leads spiralling off from the rhythmic axis."
Advantages: Very well put together for a bunch of "reject songs" Disadvantages: some songs seem to just drag on forever...
...This album, as many people know, is pretty much an album with the songs that didn't fit onto Kid A. The "rejects" if you will..
The album is pretty good for a bunch of rejects, so I'll avoid calling them that.
The album starts of with a brilliant number called Packt Like Sardines In A Crushd Tin Box.. I'm not sure why the song misses out a couple of vowels, but never mind..
This song is followed by the Pyramid Song. Which, in my opinion, drags on a bit too long, and is too similar.. I find it boring, and end up skipping that track.
You And Whose Army? is a good track, and, along with Knives Out make this album stand out. I think that these are the best tracks on the CD, closely followed by Dollars and Cents which is also pretty impressive....

Advantages: Good Music, Good Album Overall Disadvantages: Poor Lyrics- as compared to his other albums
...Personally this was the best album released in 2007.I loved every single song in it .We are currently in April and still songs from this album are becoming super hit each time they are released on the air.The Grammy he won surely shows how good this album is.His duo with daft punk is simply great and i would recommend everyone to watch the show they gave for the Grammy awards with the 2 guy from daft punk remixing in a pyramid.Compared to the other album kanye released, i fink he spent less time on the lyrics on this one and more on the music. However we cant deny it, kanye is the best in wat he does. Good Morning elevates from a gentle hook to a perfectly chosen Jay-Z sample; Barry Bonds is a mix-tape song with a moaning groove that you could listen to for weeks; and on Flashing Lights and Stronger, West single-handedly takes hip...
