Perhaps I was just at that age, where I was looking for that "classic" album in my life (approx. 17 at the time).
I had caught approx. 10 seconds of the video for Rock of Ages, on a video show, and, was hooked.
On the Monday after that, I went out and bought the album (yes an LP). And, listened to it each day, for about 2-3 months. I just couldn't get enough. It was head and shoulders above the rest of the heavy metal that was around at the time.
Timeless classics, like Rock Rock ('til you drop), as still used commonly as an opener for their concerts. Rock of Ages, is still going strong as a concert favourite. Foolin' occasionally get's an airing also.
As for the other's, Die Hard The Hunter, Billy's Got A Gun, et al, are all superb. It's just a shame that this was the last album that Rick Allen made before he had his accident.
Who know's what Def Leppard could have been/still can be, if Rick Allen hadn't lost his arm in that car accident.
Even now, nearly 20 years later, to my ears, it still sounds as fresh as it did back then.
