Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes Lyon the youngest daughter of the Earl of Strathmore ... more
was born on 4 August 1900. It might reasonably have been expected that she would lead a life of ease and privilege but few could have imagined the profound effect she would have on Britain and its people. Her life spanned the whole of the twentieth century and this official biography tells not only her story but through it that of the country she loved so devotedly. Drawing on her private correspondence and other unpublished material from the "Royal Archives" William Shawcross vividly reveals the witty girl who endeared herself to soldiers convalescing at Glamis in the First World War; the assured young Duchess of York; the Queen at last feeling able to look the East End in the face at the height of the Blitz; the Queen Mother representing the nation at home and abroad throughout her widowhood. It is the definitive portrait of a remarkable woman. Author William Shawcross discusses what made the Quen Mother such a fascinating biography

second World War and the new Labour Government, Britain was changing fast. This touching programme covers the early years of Elizabeth before her father's death, visibly in love with Philip; it moves through the cavalcade of respectful statesmen from Mandela to Clinton; from colonies to independence and the emergence of a multi-cultural British society. Her family has been surrounded by gossip, though her own long marriage to Philip has largely escaped this. The Queen's stability and continuity has allowed Britain to shed an empire and create a new and prosperous identity quite against all the odds and expectations of most leading commentators. From Churchill to Blair, and presiding over a country immeasurably different since the start of her reign, Queen Elizabeth's achievement may now be seen.

Advantages: Works for a variety of skin problems, fixes all beauty problms Ive ever found.... Disadvantages: ...Is rather oily and does resember a squeezable version of vaseline
Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, appears to feature in pretty much every beauty and fashion magazine I had ever owned ... So being a sucker for advertisement and word of mouth fantastic ratings from friends I thought I'd give it a whirl ....
..... I purchased this while working at Eurotunnel so I did get discount standard price in general isn't to pricey for what the product does, Never has it been truer you get what you pay for!!
The product is packaged in a simple but elegant white tube with an easy access screw lid - I personally love the understated design - Buying the smaller version myself so it fit in whatever handbag I would chose to carry, nights out or days out this is a versatile product which covers a variety of beauty faux pas'
A little of this product is more than enough ...by little I mean a miniscule amount ...
Advantages: Super fast-absorbing and moisturizing without being greasy Disadvantages: The cream is perfume scented which might make it non unisex.
I love this product! It is a godsend if you want super-soft, super-moisturized skin without the grease-effect or feeling like the product is ?sitting? on the skin and for this reason I love using it on my face as well as my body.
The cream is fast-absorbing and instantly makes my skin feel baby soft and supple without a trace of grease and gives a great base for my foundation to just glide on - you also don't have to wait before applying my foundation like other creams because it literally sinks in. I also use it on the backs of my hands, legs, feet and anywhere that needs extra attention and it leaves my body feeling really soft and pampered.
It retails quite pricey in department stores but I got mine quite cheaply online (http://www.beautycounterdirect.co.uk/elizabeth-arden-8-hour-intensive-body-treatment-50ml-p-1472.html) ...
Advantages: You can use it for everything Disadvantages: The smells not the nicest
I had read about Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream many times in girls mags. It has always been hailed as a wonder product so I was curious to find out why. Now, I couldn't live with out it - I use it for everything.
So what's it like? It comes in a white tube, the basic simplistic Elizabeth Arden packaging. It comes in a 75ml tube which costs about £15 depending where you buy it from. This tube lasts forever. Well, I've had mine since Christmas and there is still loads left.
When you squeeze some out you'll notice that its not really a cream, it has more of an oily texture, is a brown colour & has a medical smell. The smell is the most off putting thing about it, but if you can get past this you will be glad of the benefits.
So what are the many uses of Eight Hour Cream? Let me tell you...
First and foremost you can use it ...
