...It all kicked off for the band steps with the line-dancing track 5,6,7,8! That was it, the all smiling and dancing group shot into the charts with similar tracks such as Tragedy which school children up and down the country danced to in the playground for months after its release. The 3 stunning girls-Claire, Faye and Lisa with the 2 handsome and muscly lads-Lee and H set off a phenomenon. The album consists of many tracks which after a couple of times the songs will be glued to your head. this be a good or a bad thing is for you to decide. But with all major pop band crazes, they have to come to an end and this happenedfor steps all to soon as they followed the lead of the spice girls. On the positive side, many people still know the bands name and songs so even if theband have gone-the songs will live on!... Read review

...Now, lets not beat around the bush here. AFX is Aphex Twin under a different, yet not very secretive, name. This means that this will be an Aphex Twin album underneath with all the strangeness that goes with an Aphex Twin album. From what I know AFX is a side project that has been going around for awhile and this album is a selection from the Analord EPs. After drukqs was released and Aphex Twin was hounded for putting in a commercial effort, a real step up was needed to convince his fans that he was still about what all of us had come to love him for. A weird blend of his musisc that can only be defined by adding him to the very exclusive genre, Aphex Twin. Coming in at 56:42, this album is a fairly decent length and is bound to set the ears bleeding at some point. CASE: The case on this is a very simple brown cardboard digipack... Read review

Advantages: An almost indecent amount of variety on display

...horror, a love song about Thompson's then girlfriend, later wife, eventually ex-wife, Jean. A great rock song with a great tune and cracking Santiago guitar flourishes. 9) "Bird Dream Of The Olympus Mons" - A Ronseal Quick Drying Woodstain sort of song, in that the title tells you exactly what it's about; a little bird that falls asleep and dreams it goes to Mars. The second song with a conspicuous Eric Drew Feldman keyboard part, it's a classic example of a song building to its climax, and gorgeously so. Interestingly, this was originally to be sung by Deal, but Thompson nixed the idea. 10) "Space (I Believe In)" - A song that screams "written in the studio", but one that strives to make a virtue of it. On an album with a few space-themed songs, this isn't about that sort of space; in fact, the lyrics deal with the space within a song... Read review
