...with his band, Tubeway Army. This album, released at a time when Punk had almost given way to the New Romantic and early Goth movements, spans the musical gap brilliantly. It's electro-pop synths were considered very experimental at the time, and unlike most of his contemporaries, Numans music has not dated over the years. Whilst being quite dark and dramatic lyrically, the tunes are up-beat and really stick in your head like all good music should.
Gary plays keyboards on this album, as well as the guitar, and his style is whirling, and rather heady, like that of Jane Child or maybe Vangelis.
If you have never heard of anything by either The Tubeway Army or by Gary Numan, then why not try this CD?
The track listing is as follows .....
1) Me! I disconnect from you

Advantages: Superb Music. Disadvantages: None.
...I am editing this review because I have kind of taken for granted that everyone knows of Jon and Vangelis and it is clear that they don't. Vangelis has been writing music for a long time, and the kind of music that he writes is music that is listened to so much but heard of by few. If you think of films like Chariots of Fire for example, you probably remember the opening music which was very memorable. That was Vangelis. A lot of his work is done on synthathizers and it is a clever construction of what I would define as classical music, not always easy to listen to, although the majority of it stands out more than other writers of his style such as the French composer Jean Michel Jarre, or perhaps Mike Oldfield in his Tubular Bells style. It is this gendre of music that Vangelis excels in.

...there has been a lot written regarding this soundtrack. We still wonder why on earth it took Vangelis twelve years to finally release this treasure. There is still much speculation as to the reason why this happened, but in any case, after being forced to listen to grim renditions of the soundtrack and bad-sounding bootlegs, Vangelis' "Blade Runner" is well worth the wait. Many have attacked this work for having certain exerpts of dialog from the film on some of the tracks. I, however, find that this inclusion makes the tracks more interesting. Deckard's exchange with Rachael and Tyrell is a great introduction to "Blush Response" with the eerie music in the background. "Wait For Me," apparently inspired by the film and written in 1994 when the disc was released, is a hypnotic and seductive track with select, very well-chosen lines from...
