Advantages: A musical and visual extravaganza! Disadvantages: Too expensive for the average fan
.... Whilst I would recommend anyone to part with their cash for this musical and visual portrait of one of the world's best showmen, I do wish that the cost were lower. The music featured in this set is from Freddie's previous releases and is an insight to the power and range of Freddie's abilities - you will not be disappointed by the content!...

Advantages: Good variety of songs Disadvantages: Doesn't contain Like a Virgin
...I bought this CD after watching the film countless times and being astounded by the music featured.
The soundtrack contains almost every song from the film, apart from Like A Virgin by Zidler, which I must say is most disappointing. However, all the other songs make up for that.
It includes all the duets between Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman and what fantastic voices they both have! The Elephant Love Medley and Come What May are the definite show grabbers. Your Song my Ewan McGregor is also on it and you can appreciate the emotion from just listening as you can from watching the film.
It doesn't just only contain the show songs, but also had tunes from Fat Boy Slim and Beck. There are a few strange song however, including two mixes of David Bowie's Nature Boy and a french ballad from Rufus Wainwright. You also can't help but laugh...

Advantages: let's you relive the film, 10 outstanding tracks, Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman singing...you won't find that on any other album...yet! Disadvantages: Some tracks don't fit in (Diamond dogs, Rhythm of the Night) and Lady Marmalade sounds like it's being sung by a cat's choir
...For those who had the (mis)fortune to read my ranting (probably rabid) view on the film, you may have gathered that I enjoyed the film immensely. It didn't take me long to decide that the soundtrack was definitely on my shopping list as soon as I received my first pay check (yes folks I now have a REAL job!) but my kind sister bought it for me before that event occurred! It was a bargain at £10 and, well, I'm pretty glad my sis purchased it for me.
The film, for those who don't know, is a spectacular musical extravaganza, featuring the singing voices of many of its stars (Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman being the most notable among others) and the songs combined the lyrics from many contemporary classics such as Elton John's 'You Song', Madonna's 'Material Girl', U2's 'Pride(in the name of love)', Nirvana's 'Smells like Teen Spirit...
