...Yet another greatest hits package from the now defunct rockers, but isn’t this just one release too far? Let’s consider the evidence:
PROS:
- it was only £3.99 in HMV’s clearance sale (the only time it’s worth shopping in these corporate monsters).
- it is a great collection of great songs, 16 of them stretching over 73 minutes
CONS:
- it’s at least the fourth such greatest hits/rarities package: “Their Finest Hour (And A Half)” (1995), “Live” (1998), and “The Rare, The Raw And The Rest (1999).
- there are only the most basic of liner notes, giving author and year of each song.
- there are only five non-album tracks featured: live versions of “Brown Sugar” and “All The Way From Memphis”, acoustic versions of “Higher Ground” and “...

Advantages: Good music, good lyrics Disadvantages: none
...Get a Grip includes such hits as "Crazy" and "Amazing". This album was my first by Aerosmith, and within a day I'd played it so often I knew the lyrics by heart. Lyrics pumped out of a broad mouth, guitars doing their thing, it is a rockalbum which eventhough it is commercial, carries the brand of this group. Better than Nine Lives, this still has some of the raw youth you wouldn't expect to find alive and well in a band that has been around for this long. Energetic and fresh, this album has what it takes to be one of their classic productions....

Advantages: Some cracking tracks, the whole album is raw and strong Disadvantages: None
...Grinderman with their self-titled album Grinderman was a Nick Cave side-project before his latest album Dig Lazarus Dig, Grinderman has been described as "old men ageing disgracefully" and that's exactly what it is, it sounds like old gits obsessed with girls but it doesn't really try to be anything different. The album came about when Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds were tired following extensive and perhaps excessive touring of their 13 album Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus. Nick Cave started to write some songs on guitar, Nick Cave rarely uses guitar and it therefore brings a very raw flavour to the band, somewhat different to any of The Bad Seeds albums and more similar to Cave's early 80's band The Birthday Party. The raw garage flavour is definitely to my liking and I'm definitely not the only one as they are headling Roskilde...
