Tesco Sushi Selection Pack...... A year ago the idea of eating sushi would probably have made me feel a little sick, I mean RAW FISH who would eat that! I usually like my fish nicely cooked and flaky not slimy and still alive. However as I had decided this is the year for trying new things and living life to the full I decided to give sushi a chance. Helping along this new challenge was the fact that I saw you could purchase a snack pack of sushi in Tesco for a mere £1! So my first ever sushi experience was the beginning of this year and I haven't looked back. Tesco £1 snack sized pack was well worth trying as it gave me an idea of the taste of certain sushi rolls. Miso soup for £1.75, or unlimited still or sparkling water (dispensed from taps at the table) for £1. Each table comes with a healthy supply of chopsticks (including some wide ones for beginners) napkins, pickled ginger, and soy sauce . You'll also be given a menu, which lists all the dished available, and lets you now whether they are usually available off the belt, or if they need ordering . Each dish comes with a small description, and I like that there are colourful pictures - this helped me to identify the dishes that were going past me on the belt so I could grab them if they appealed to me . On my first visit, as a relative sushi virgin, I was happy to see that not all the dishes involved raw fish . There was a rather delicious spicy chicken salad, with a ginger and garlic dressing, served on a bed of greens , carrots ...

Disadvantages: Would benefit from more fish; not for those who don't love rice.

the horseradish we have with beef. Adding these items is optional, according to personal preference. I like to have a little soy and maybe a little ginger but I can't stand horseradish so I leave the wasabi well alone. Be warned that the ginger and wasabi both have a real kick to them so be sparing with them. As this is a takeaway selection and sushi should be eaten with the fingers then a small hand wipe also included, although really sushi isn't that messy to eat at all. The pack costs £3.60 and the total weight is 210g. This is relatively expensive but so is everything else in M&S and salmon and prawns are expensive ingredients. The sushi is 57% rice, so if you aren't a rice person then I doubt this is for you.
