This Madonna album has to be the most over-rated album she has ever done. The album has a few great tracks, and William Orbit’s influence is present throughout the album. The songs are all quite catchy but unlike Madonna’s older stuff, instead of growing on you, they just become irritating after continuous listening. Madonna tends to sing the lyrics in a much more pronounced fashion than on any of her previous records (probably as a result of all the singing lessons she had for Evita). This album is alright, but personally I don’t think it’s one of her best albums and it certainly doesn’t deserve all the attention it’s received.
