...car over the weekend. Ray Quinn does swing. I remember this kid from Brookie, and he was a damn good little actor. But whether he's a good singer or not is a different matter. Taking on the most popular swing classics of Sinatra and co, Quinn kicks off the faithful covers album in style, with Aint That A Kick In The Head. His vocals are limp in places, but he has enough charisma to at least manage a worthy cover or two. The more upbeat numbers stick ... ...faithful, and the most enjoyable. However, the slower numbers really let the side down. My Way is excrutiatingly bad. Its not one of my favourite songs to start with, but with the sacharine vocals and Quinn singing through grated teeth for the most part, it loses any appeal that the song might have had. Cowell and co championed this kid through most of the competition, nobody willing to admit that he's only a moderately good singer, and really not ...

Advantages: Great for all those frank sinatra fans Disadvantages: Too much of the same music on one album
...second in the X factor Ray got a record deal with Sony Bmg and recorded his first album in January 2007 to be released 12th march 2007 just in time for mothers day.
The album went straight to the top knocking That that off the spot of number one in the album charts. I started to listen to the album and I was very impressed with first four tracks then it started to a bit down hill and I was abit surprised that he did not throw something a bit different ... ...1.: Ain't That A Kick In The Head ~ This is a fab track very bright and cheerful well sang, You just want to get up and dance.
2.: Fly Me To The Moon ~ Slower track again sang well very romantic, ideal for your first dance at a wedding.
3.: My Way ~ You can hear the emotion put into this song, very powerful makes you get a bit tearful

Advantages: Stunning vocals, Hypnotic songs, very original Disadvantages: Lack of original songs, touch of nervousness in recordings
Ray Quinn, as you may know was one of the runner-ups of The X Factor, a UK 'talent' show. Normally, I'd disregard the 'talent' bit as this is the show that gave us Chico but when i heard of Ray I decided to have a little look myself. Coem on, it's a swing/jazz album sung by a 19 year old Brit - It's not something you see everyday. Strangely though, i have never called it a novelty album.
From song one (Ain't That a Kick In The Head) you can see ... ...but this album is a ray of light for two reasons - Firstly, it's really incroduced me into the world of jazz/swing music and perhaps even more importantly, it has proven that Britain does have talent! The songs are mostly covers with notable songs like New York, New York and My Life appearing on the album. Although I doubt youll be dancing when you hear these songs, you'll be too busy listening to it to really be bothered about it. It's a hypnotic ...

...fan of the cheeky chappy Ray Quinn, on X Factor last year. I have always liked swing music, and I own some of the quite famous songs in their original format done by some of the greatest artists in the world. My personal favourite being Mr Frank Sinatra himself. I thought Ray had a lovely voice, well suited to these types of music, but felt that the best woman won as she was more versatile. I wanted him to do well though and I am pleased that he ... ...delivery of my little girl, I must confess that I had forgotten a little about him. That is, until, I went into my local Woolworths and spotted the album. Then I spotted the price tag, and I was shocked! Just £2! £2! I was absolutely stunned. So, I purchased the album to try and show my support. I didn't listen to it until quite recently, but I thought it was really really good. Not quite in the same category as Robbie and his swing album, but very ...
