Pink Floyd The Wall - Studio Album - Excellent!

Advantages: Great songs, use of instruments and brilliant innovative style
Disadvantages: Some parts seem to drag on a bit

My introduction to this album started last Saturday when I thought I?d find out what all the fuss about this album was about being apparently brilliant. Consequently, I can honestly say that this is one of the best, and definitely most innovative albums I?ve heard in a long time. From the very beginning with the slow introduction of flutes and strings comes an explosion of drums and guitars that almost blows you away. This ensures you know whom your listening to being the legend that is Pink Floyd. Following on as the tracks flow nicely into each other, the music builds up with air sirens whirling imitating the war and then it all turns much quieter with a more ballad style of music and meaningful lyrics. Advantages: nice music, grate art
Disadvantages: not visually suitable for people under the age of 15

this is a top class example of excellent music & an excellent director, The songs played in this film by pink Floyd are : The Thin Ice, Another Brick in the Wall, & Young Lust , etc. the metaphors in the film were numerous IE @ the end children picking up debris from an exploding wall shows how when ever there is anything like a war or a attempted/coup it is always the next generation that has to pick up the pieces & suffers, This film lasts approximately 95 Min's long, shortly after they made this film pink Floyd disbanded due to fights over creations direction (the rest of the band thought roger was trying to take too much control) This film is meant for adults but the music in it can be enjoyed by all the family except the song 'dirty woman' . IT'S RUMOURED TO BE A TRIBUTE

Advantages: Recognisable tunes
Disadvantages: Neither fish nor foul. Best stick to the original

I was prompted to shake the dust off a neglected corner of my record collection by a review posted by Nar recently. "The True Legacy of a Legendary Musical Divorce?" is about the Album "Legacy, a Tribute to Fleetwood Mac's Rumours" - a CD of cover versions of the songs from the classic Mac album 'Rumours' released in 1977.
