Despite criticism from cynical Metallica fans I rate this as one of the best Metallica albums. The album is a departure from their heavier, more aggressive sound on albums like 'And Justice for All' but as an album in its own right it is still very good.
The best tracks are The Memory Remains, Carpe Diem Baby, Bad Seed and of course The Unforgiven II. The Unforgiven II is my personal favourite, combining good lyrics and a solo that is up there with their best. The only weak tracks are Low Man's Lyric and Where The Wild Things Are which lack the strong choruses of the better songs on this album.
In my opinion this album is the last chance to hear metallica at their best and still writing classic songs.
