This is a compilation album from 1999 of some really mellow Rod tracks. Demonstrating Rods unique singing voice that is racked with emoutions these songs are a little move away from the rockier songs of the faces days. It is an album that is great for relaxing too and in truth a great sing along too! It has all the classics for someone who is looking for a rod album Maggie May and You wear it well and some covers of some classic tracks.

Hand Bags and Glad Rags - The theme to Ricky Gervais' "The Office"
In case you didn't know it is a song to a young girl who cares about nothing but her looks and attention she gets and asks what is she going to do when all the clothes are out of fashion.
An oldie but goodie.

Man of Contant Sorrow - This song was covered in the Cohen brothers film "Oh Brother where art thou". This is a much slower version that the one in that film - If this is the first version you have heard (as in my case) it may sound a bit strange. With Rods' emoution filled tones you will want to sing along.

Dirty Old Town - The irish classic this is a slow rendition so the lyrics are clear and haunting.

Gasoline Alley - Co written by Rod this is a ballad about returning to working class roots - a little bit of anthem.

Only a Hobo - A Bob Dylan song - quite a moving track

Country Comfort- Another homely classic

Reason To Believe - Quite strong lyrics - an unusual kind of a love song about wanting to forget about a lovers betrayal.

Id Rather Go Blind - A soulful song full of meaning another song about betrayal.

You Wear it Well - A rod classic written by him - exellent lyrics really descrptive.

Mamma You've Been On My Mind - Another song written by Dylan.

What Made Milwaukee Famous - A song that always makes me smile - about not wanting to leave a bar.

Farewell - A song about wanting to make it

Girl From North Country - Another moving song by Dylan

Oh No Not My Baby - Rods rendition of this classic.

You Put Something Better Inside of Me - An uplifting love song.

Every Time We Say Goodbye - A good version of this classic. Quite a nice and appropriate way to end the album.
