Advantages: Some forgotten tracks are brought back into the spotlight Disadvantages: another Doors compilation!
...a 1969 concert in Miami, after which the band were effectively finished. They probably would not have made any more albums as a band after the release of LA Woman; in any event Morrison's death in Paris 1971 drew a line under the proceedings. In 2003, amid much guffawing, Manzarek and Kreiger hooked up with Ian Astbury, vocalist with UK rockers The Cult, taking to the stage again under the name "Doors - 21st Century", under the auspice of which they tour with to this day. Whether you can consider this new group "TheDoors" or not is rather open to question.
The albums in full: The Doors (1967) - Strange Days (1967) - Waiting For The Sun (1968) - The Soft Parade (1969) - Morrison Hotel (1969) - LA Woman (1971)
This comprises 17 tracks all told, mostly from the first three albums. No point giving a description of every...

Advantages: This is a necessity for Ani fans new and old alike. Disadvantages: Some of my favorite songs are not featured on this set - but, many of them ARE.
...the crowd at any one of the many tiny hole-in-the-wall clubs on Ani?s tour schedule. Not many liverecordings can capture the essence of the environment, but "Living In Clip" does not fall short. I highly recommend this to any Ani DiFranco fan. But, this is a great introduction to Ani's career, as it is a very well-balanced and skillfully-assembled timeline of her work as a musician. You cannot miss this album for ANYTHING, ladies and gentlemen! It's too good to pass up!
One of the best things about this two-disc set is 1. I found it for $12.99 but also 2. The fact that Ani refuses to edit out or alter her live performances. Instead, she left the entire thing as it was (well, okay, she redid the vocal track on "Both Hands" because the original...

JIM MORRISON -- The Doors' frontman and resident bad-boy poet. The Tyrannosaurus Rex of the Classic Rock Dinosaurs (literally, based on the word "dinosaur's" meaning: "terrible lizard," and the well-known "Lizard King" designation Jim inherited from his poem, "The Celebration Of The Lizard."
THE BEHIND THE SCENES LMF GOSSIP:
--Prior to doing a live performance of LMF on the Ed Sullivan show, Ed's son-in-law and the show's director, Bob Precht, came to the Doors' dressing room to request that they edit the line: "...girl we couldn't get much higher," to "girl we couldn't get much better." After pretending to go along with the altered line during rehearsal, they took the stage and sung the original version during the live performance, causing...
