Definately a get-up-and-dance track, and the best track Basement Jaxx have ever released. If you haven't heard this by now or if you don't think this is true you might as well go back to your Buddy Holly albums...
Advantages: Will make anyone dance Disadvantages: that it hasnt been officially named the ultimate party track
Red alert is quite possibly the ultimate party track for all of us that cant really dance. Dont get me wrong here because its great for those of you that can dance, but this track ONLY requires you to enjoy the beats and keep moving.
Some would say this is quite an overplayed track, but at any party I have been to it has never failed to fill the room with people dancing and having a good time. Basement Jaxx are made up of the duo Simon Ratcliffe ... ...albums. If you are yet to hear any basement Jaxx this track is among their best few- along with 'Good Luck' and 'Do your thing'. This is a must-listen-to-and-dance-to track which combines extreme bass rhythms with looped (repeated) patterns to give an original funky tune which will carry the basement jaxx legacy for years to come. ...

Advantages: great tune, make you want to dance Disadvantages: slightly overplayed
The new improved review.....
You know those tunes that get stuck in your head and you keep playing it over and over in your mind? well this song is one of those. Its brilliant, and when you are out at a party or a club, it makes you get out of your seat and dance. It has a great beat to it which can be felt across the dancefloor when it is played, as it vibrates through your feet, which means you literally "feel the beat", and although the words ... ...get you singing along. When it first came out all my friends would either be humming or singing it, and where ever you go, you cant get away from it, so sometimes the song can get a little irratating, but after a day without it, i'm hooked again.
The video for this song is interesting, and is all about a meterorite which hits a cafe, and some sort of spirit posseses them all from it, and the all dance and wear strange clothes. Its not the best video ...

Advantages: Good meaty songs Disadvantages: Patchy in places
Well BasementJaxx stormed onto the scene with RedAlert which was really very good. They seemed to look like a dance act, but then RedAlert was suggesting that they are almost pop blended with dance for a good measure.
After buying the album I was suitably impressed with a good selection of songs from it, but they are not Dj meisters! They do a very good line in pop-come-dance kind of music. Not all of the album is great but there certainly is enough to keep you entertained.
A good album to be starting with, but the next one I think needs to satisfy more.....
If you like this you will also most likely like Apollo Four Fortys last album. ...
