Advantages: Sexy and vampy Disadvantages: some poor acting in parts
throughout TrueBlood. I find it fascinating how slutty some of the girls outfits are and how the director got away with portraying small town girls in this way. However the girls in the series are sexy and whether it?s right or not to put them all in tiny skirts and dresses?it works.
The vampires are also clad in very vintage Goth outfits which fitted ion perfectly with me of how I would imagine a real vampire to be.
Soundtrack
One of my favourite things about TrueBlood is the soundtrack, the opening song is ?Bad Things? by JaceEverett, and it is unreal how well the song fits in with not only the theme but also the setting of the series. The song is slightly creepy, and is also very deeply southern and also extremely sexy.
The rest of the soundtrack has the same sort of sound, it?s an incredibly bare soundtrack ...
Advantages: Interesting genre merge of horror and drama Disadvantages: Some cheesy moments
TrueBlood is the new HBO, Vampire TV series made by the people who brought us 'Six Feet Under'. The first season has only just started in America, but I'm sure it won't be too long before it heads over to somewhere like E4. As the Vampires don't need human blood anymore, there is no reason for humans to fear them. Set in the small town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, we meet Sootie (Anna Paquin) who has the ability to read people's mind. Her psychic ...

Advantages: Explores some interesting themes. Well acted. Disadvantages: Too many storylines happening at once.
At the time of writing, vampire themed movies and TV shows seem to be going through a resurrection (pun intended). It's been a long time since the days of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and spin-off series Angel but in an era where vampires have been romanticised as sparkly, bleeding-heart saps thanks to the Twilight books and movies, does TrueBlood have what it takes to bring new life to the genre?
Like Twilight, TrueBlood also originates from a series of novels called The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris and it also focuses centrally on the romance between a human and a vampire but that's really where the comparisons end.
The main protagonist is Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress working in a bar called Merlotte's in the small, fictional town of Bon Temps in Louisiana. Sookie isn't just any ordinary girl though, she ...
