A labour to listen to.
Review of Labour Of Love Vol.3 - UB40 by
lynseyb
Advantages: None for me.
Disadvantages: Poor arrangement and no real direction to the album!
...fan but after buying the Labour of Love volume 3 album I started to look further into my enjoyment of UB40 and soon realised that apart from maybe 10 songs there is actually very little the band has done that I enjoy. I think the fact that the original Labour of Love album was so good made me believe that this was a band I enjoyed, I bought volume 2 also and yes I played it but very rarely.
When I first played this album (volume 3) I couldn't believe ... ...created the marvellous Labour of love volume 1 because instead of a whole album full of great tracks I was greeted by an album of very similar sounding tracks none of which appealed to me at all.
The tracks. ~~~~~~~~
1. Holly Holy
2. It's My Delight
3. Come Back Darling
4. Never Let You Go
5. Soul Rebel
6. My Best Girl
7. Good Ambition
8. Train Is Coming
9. Blood And Fire
10. Mr Fix It

Buju The Stamina Daddy
Review of Stamina Daddy - Buju Banton by
XICripZ
Advantages: Some big tunes
Disadvantages: Quite repetitive
Originally named "Stamina Daddy", "Quick" was the debut album from the Reggae and Dancehall star, Buju Banton. It came out in 1992 at first, but under the new title, it was released the following year. 1. "Quick" (feat. Winston Riley)
The beat in this one lived on far longer than the tune, as it has been heard recently in Hip hop tracks by Statik Selektah, and Guerilla Black, and to be honest, I found that they worked a lot better than in this original ... ...is supposed to lead the album as its highlight piece.
**Three Stars**
2. "Bring You Body Come" (feat. Winston Riley)
For me, this is the top track off the album and does exactly what I want of a hot Dancehall track. On this one, you get all of the energy from a typical Dancehall tune of today, and with the most successful producer in Winston Riley to hand, he was able to come up with a banger of a tune. **Five Stars**
3. "Stamina Daddy" (feat. ...

BOX OF DUB-VARIOUS ARTISTS
Review of Box Of Dub - Various Artists by
leothesynth
Advantages: Great dubby sounds
Disadvantages: some tracks are a bit weak
BOX OF DUB-Various artists is a showcase of tracks taken from the new popular Dubstep-future garage genre. This record covers the dubbier side of the scene with names such as 'Skream, Digital mystiks, Scuba, etc) . The tracks are original, with some bordering on strange (Digital Mystikz 'Guilty' is an example). Overall the quality is very high and rather enjoyable. The record kicks off with Digital Mystikz 'I wait' which is a lovely stripped down ... ...on this record and features on two tracks. The first is 'Sub Island', a detailed drum workout over minimal but heavy sub bass and an even more minimal pad sound which suggests the tropical island feel. Skream's other track is a well known dubby jump up number which has featured on underground radio and is a sure hit. Other tracks which stand out are burial, Kode 9 and Tayo. This is a good album to listen to in your own home as well as a DJ tool for ...

Review of Dutty Rock [PA] - Sean Paul by
paulhanton
Advantages: Some really good, infectious songs.
Disadvantages: Some fillers.
Sean Paul - Dutty Rock
Twenty three tracks make up the 2nd album of Jamaican Dancehall come DJ, come rapper Sean Paul, his first album bombed.
Released in 2002 this album has made regular visits to my CD player, one or two tracks in particular. I am not going to review every track; rather I am going to 'highlight' the best tracks. Actually, there are quite a few very good tracks, so much so that SP could have easily left off the weaker tracks and ... ...~~~The Tracks~~~
There is a full track listing at the end of this review but here I am going to concentrate on some of the more memorable tracks. I am also going to be brutal and tell you what not to bother with.
3. Gimme the Light - Great beat, great vocal, absolutely stunning bass line backed up by good drum work. Great cross over between rap and dancehall, seems to owe a lot in my opinion to old style 'toasting'. The lyrics are definitely rap ...

This album has helped me through the rough times!
Review of Africa Unite (The Singles Collection) - Bob Marley & The Wailers by
toop
Advantages: Will cheer you up in times of need
Disadvantages: None whatsoever!!!!!
I truly enjoyed this album, and always have it on repeat.
It features all the well known Marley hits like; No woman no cry, I shot the sheriff, jammin, one love, exodus, could you be loved, and 3 little birds.
Although it features many hits, there are also one or too missing such as 'Small axe' and 'sun is shining,' but all in all it is truly an album you must have in your collection!!!!
When ever I am feeling down this album always cheers me up! ...
