Advantages: Amazing range of sounds compiled to make powerful songs Disadvantages: Some people will hate it initially, some will take a few listenings to get aquired
...Herzeleid, Sehnsucht and Mutter, then Reise Reise will come as a great shock, hopefully for the best. Initially, Rammstein used a combination of guitar, drums, vocal, bass and keys to make an industrial rock style which is extremely powerful. However on progression to Mutter, the sounds started becoming more melodic and diverse in the instruments and playing style. For example, "Sonne" uses a collection of synthesized sounds along with a high pitched ... ...Rammstein's progression. If so, then Reise Reise takes it up a step beyond 10/10. The use of sounds leave few gaps in the songs, meaning your senses are constantly touched by different instruments which sound not only powerful, but also quite beautiful.
For example, the opening track "Reise Reise" has the heavy guitars, but also a background violin type sound. Near the end it changes to something resembling a flute, and then onto the accordion! ...

Released in 2004, this has some of their greatest song on, with several personal favourites of mine. Their songs all ... ...on the album:
1. Reise Reise : The phrase "Reise, Reise" is used by seamen as a wake-up call and finds its roots in the Middle High German verb "risen", which meant "to rise" (to which it is obviously related as well).
2. Mein Teil: About Cannibalism, where he is going to meet a cannibal and saying who much he would like to eat him.
3. Dalai Lama: The Dalai Lama is the most powerful figure in the Gelugpa or Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The ...

Advantages: A mix of power, beauty and emotion rarely seen elsewhere Disadvantages: Lyrics will be wasted on non-German speakers, which is a shame
...German Metal giants 'Rammstein', but Reise Reise meets their very high standards.
It's been a few years since the release of 'Reise Reise' now, an old sailor's phrase meaning literally 'Arise! Arise!'. Progressing through the album is a journey in itself, and from the sheer anger and fury of 'Mein Teil' through to the achingly beautiful 'Ohne Dich', the tingling emotion and energy packed into these 11 songs is truly something to behold. An incredible ... ...to pick a favourite song on this album, I have to highlight the final two songs, 'Ohne Dich' and 'Amour'. 'Ohne Dich', a simply beautiful metal ballad is true and passionate. As Till Lindemann enters his, in my opinion, underused upper register, belting out the line 'Ohne dich kann ich nicht sein' (With out you I cannot be), you are caught. Trapped by the near perfect combination of orchestra and guitar. The album then ends with 'Amour', a growling ...

Advantages: Classic Rammstein, Heavy, Catchy, Unique Disadvantages: Some questionable tracks...
Rammstein are certainly a mighty band in their genre. That is probably because they are in a genre of their own. There seems to be a clique attached to being a Rammstein fan but they seemed to try and break that with some of the tracks on this CD. The opening song, and title track, is fantastic and brought back the good memories of the powerful 'Sonne' from the album "Mutter", which is probably still their best album to date. The power continues ... ...'Amerika'. This is the track that started to bother me and it continues to do so the more I listen to it. Politically influenced music has always bothered me as it has an agenda which isnt primarily to entertain and please the fans who support the band, who listen to the band for its music not it social, economic or political policy. The fact that it is in German does mean most people dont have to worry about whats being said does slightly negate ...

Advantages: Heavy, Wider variety of songs than other albums, Very catchy Disadvantages: A few let down tracks...
...of the blander songs on Reise Reise, the quick and heavy chorus is reminiscent of the song Rosenrot, the song drops and picks up but is not really memorable especially compared to some of the other songs on the album 3/5
10. Ohne Dich
A slow song but easily one of the best songs on the album. The vocals are very central to Ohne Dich. Unusually catchy for a slow Rammstein song and one of the highlights of the album. Schneider shows truly great drumming ... ...an album. 4/5
Reise, Reise has a reputation for being a heavy album but the slower songs towards the end such as Ohne Dich and Amour balance the heavier songs such as Mein Teil and Keine Lust. Like the albums translation (Reise, Reise - Journey, Journey) the album generally starts heavy and ends with slower songs. A well balanced album and Rammstein's best album yet. Reise Reise is well worth the price tag many online stores are asking (amazon and ...

Advantages: Excellent riffs and orchestral pieces, excellent overall Disadvantages: Some may find it annoying you cant understand the lyrics
...Rammstein-ReiseReise
Achtung! Achtung!
Once again I start off a Rammstein review by stating the power of the German language when it comes to drama and power, whether its shouting 'Warning', or shouting ' Hermaphrodite' it gives off a perfect essence of dramatics.
And this is where our favourite German Industrial metallers have found theyre Niche in the world of music.
As the only German band to become popular in the U.S, specificly with their 2001 album entitled 'Mutter' they certainly have a fair bit to live up to, especially with Mutter being the third release from the bands storming career.
But Im not here to tell you about Mutter, I already did that half a year ago, Im here to tell you about Rammsteins latest Effort 'ReiseReise'.
Producing a successor to Mutter was not easy for the band, they now had a new long...

...WHAT IS RAMMSTEIN??
First, I guess I'd better explain the craziness that is the band Rammstein. What genre do they fall into? I’d say its somewhere along the lines of Heavy German Cyber Gothic Techno Melodic Metal… If that doesn’t immediately appeal to you then chances are you may not enjoy this CD, but everyone should hear it at least once!
Rammstein consist of 6 members, Till (vocals), Richard (Guitar), Paul (Guitar), Oliver (Bass), Christoph (Drums) and Flake (pronounced Flar-kuh, on Keyboards/Electronics). They’ve been around since the early ‘90s and their unique sound has gained them thousands of die-hard fans across the world (including me!). Pair this with their incredible live show and they’re actually one of the hottest bands you’ve never heard of.
Reise, Reise is their fourth full-length studio album, and has been...

Advantages: you can't get a better cd! Disadvantages: if you understand the lyrics they're a bit raw
...When I first heard about the release of this CD, I knew I had to have it!
If you've listened to previous Rammstein albums or have watched the Mercedes Benz advert on TV, you'll know what I'm talking about when I describe the music as... powerful and emotive.
It seems to me that this album is a culmination of the knowledge the band have collected from their previous three albums. In fact, it almost seems same-y but that is no bad thing! The single, and first song on the album, ReiseReise, seems to be a follow up to "Seeman" from the first album but the anger, the passion, the butterflies in your tummy you get from listening is still there...
Megaherz are another German band who I think are great friends of Rammstein and they have also written and performed a song called "Ohne Dich" but that (sadly) is not the song on Reise...

Album Notes: One of the more unlikely success stories in music-business history, German heavy-metal collective Rammstein creates a totally uncompromising and wildly (some would say ridiculously) dramatic sound that combined elements of goth, industrial, Wagnerian opera, and progressive rock, with lyrics sung almost exclusively in German. Rammstein's concerts were even more over-the-top than the ensemble's recorded output, matching the performance art-inspired wackiness of Devo with the gross-out antics of Gwar.
Album Reviews: CMJ (p.16) - "[S]ung completely in Rammstein's native German, accompanied by harsh riffs that are punctuated by blips, samples and sprawling synths."
