...Tupac Shakur's life supposedly ended in September of 1996 and fans have been investigating the evidence ever since. The people are divided in debating whether or not the rapper/actor is still alive: some are willing to accept the current facts that the star is no longer with us, while others are so intrigued by the references to today's culture in his music that they have no definite answer as to where he is. The one thing that I'm sure they will all agree on, however, is that he was never really given the chance to develop his promising talents as an actor. Gang Related is Tupac's last ever film (but don't quote me on that just yet). Advantages: Intelligent, tuneful songs, sturdy strings

...Much of today?s production-line pop delivers clichés with a disturbingly passionate intensity. So it?s refreshing to discover heartfelt feeling conveyed with understated modesty. Which is why twenty-nine year old Liverpudlian Kathryn Williams is such a find. She is very good at modesty: she got her first gigs only when her friends, exasperated at her inaction, booked them for her. Her second album, Little Black Numbers, was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize. At the awards dinner, she says, ?I felt like I should have had an apron on, serving food.? The 12 tracks which impressed the Mercury judges at first confirm that shrinking violet image. Kathryn Williams?s voice is a fragile thing. Advantages: Great Music
Disadvantages: A little intense

...to the engineering it think this D.I.Y. style of recording by her is matter of necessity to save money, as this first recording she financed herself. You will find that the lyrics to songs sound very personal and I think they relate to the deeply felt feelings of "Ms Williams". This recording is a great snapshot of a talented artist who couldn't get a break from a major label but believed in her talent herself and this is the fruits of her first release I am glad to stay are available again for others to enjoy. If you bought and enjoyed "Little Black Numbers" don't miss out the opportunity to buy this collection as its full of intense raw emotion that we all feel sometimes and K.W. conveys so eloquently on this album of vignettes.
