Full review
I've always loved this album and it's original cover not pictured here,it's some of the earliest progressive rock ever with, such brilliant Syd Barret Tracks as "See Emily Play" a wistful song presumably about a woman and "Bike" a pschadelic song about Syd's posessions. Pink floyds sound changed quite a bit when Syd had a breakdown and left and was replaced by Dave Gilmour, so this is an important album in my mind, keeping Syds music alive. (though as someone rightly commented Dave Gilmour does play on some of the tracks)

I also love "Arnold Lane" a strange song about a transvestite who steals womens clothes by night and ends up in prison. It has a very strange black and white video as well if you can find it. There are also many instrumental songs like "Interstellar Overdrive and "careful with that Axe Eugene".

This is a great album to play in the background at social gatherings if your friends are into Progressive Rock, this is a popular album. I have many memories associated with the songs on the album and of places where I've seen the cover, it's generally upbeat and good for drinking to.

It's a great way to first listen to early Floyd, try "Piper at the Gates Of Dawn" and "Atom Heart Mother" if you like this, it's quite differnet to their later albums you'll find.
