Advantages: Fantastically inventive 80s art-pop Disadvantages: A couple of weak tracks
...The Talking Heads early period, with Eno as producer are for me the most interesting of their career and yet most of their albums have only one of two really good songs and then the rest are good but nothing really new and fresh. When I was a student I started getting into them a bit and HMV was selling their albums in the sale for a fiver each, so then armed with my student discount I was paying about £4.50 each and so I bought most of their back catalogue, most of which I enjoyed but if I had to throw them all away and keep one the choice would not be a difficult one.
I would keep Remain in Light.
Now why is this? Why does it stand out so far from the rest, surely all their albums are the same: homogeneity of art-pop. I say not and I can also say why. Remain in Light is an unusual Talking Heads album because unlike most...

Advantages: A whole range of diverse and brilliant rock albums Disadvantages: Some of the tracks are perhaps a tad too similar
...It's fair to say that I like to listen to some very unusual bands that are certainly not mainstream in their country of origin, let alone here in the UK.
It's also fair to say that Alter Bridge are not mainstream which, by my account, is a great shame.
Why, I hear you cry? Well, it's simple; the talented four piece's first album, 'One Day Remains', is spectacular, ranging from gentle rock ballads to hardcore head banging tracks and songs of hope even in the darkest hour of a persons day.

Myles has an incredible way of channelling these thoughts to really...

..."Reroute to Remain" is arguably the greatest In Flames album ever made! It is an unforgettable rollercoaster ride of emotions, ranging from the furious beat of Egonomic to the eerie instrumentals on Metaphor. If you like metal or even heavy-er rock, you will find Reroute to Remain a most worthwhile purchase.
1.: Reroute To Remain
The title of the album is also the title of the first song. This song starts with an eerie electronic introduction, rapidly interrupted by the beat of the classic death metal rhythm guitar. More high-pitched melodic death metal style guitar plays over this intrductory shock until the croaky, gritty screaming breaks in, highlighted by the thundering beat of the rhythm guitar. After the verses, breaks a rather unexpected high-pitched "chipmunk" sound voice which plays as a background for high...
