Advantages: A few really good tracks, some De La Soul tunes you have never heard before Disadvantages: The album has no flow, a few weak remixes
...***Warning*** This review does contain some edited adult language and themes. The words have been changed but the meaning is plain.
In the stacks of wax you can find the De La Mix: Remixes, Rarities & Classics, De La Soul's 2004 release on Tommy Boy/ Rhino. This is not so much a greatest hits as it is a revisiting in an alternate universe. Both commercial and critical successes are treated to a fresh dusting off, live performance or remix on this disk.
Laying down the Knowledge
For those of you that don't already know, De La Soul has been around since rap was just rap. Hip hop was just starting to take root as a music genre. There was just rap. Advantages: A danceable collection Disadvantages: One really naff track
...This is my first album review so any criticisms or advice will be greatly appreciated.
I decided to review J to tha Lo – the Remixes, an album by Miss Big Butt herself, Jennifer Lopez, as it is one of the CD’s in our house that gets a lot of play time.
The album cover is a collection of pictures from her various musical videos.
J-Lo released this offering in March 2002, and the album offers remixed versions of many of her tracks, previously released as singles, or on her other albums. A con, to persuade us to part with more money? Well, see what you think.
The album is available from HMV priced at £16.99.

Opening track 'Like Eating Glass' sounds very echoed. A beautiful synth pad in the background gives the song a whole new feel. The song is mellower than the original but is absolutely fantastic.
Hit song 'Banquet' is given a pounding beat. After the long intro it kicks in. There is a definite electronica feel, juxtaposed with the original guitar riffs. It sounds incredible. A definite highlight.
'This Modern Love' is the most successful sounding...
