Advantages: A few really good tracks, some De La Soul tunes you have never heard before Disadvantages: The album has no flow, a few weak remixes
...are both hitting on all cylinders on this one.
The track is groovy. I can hear JamesBrown behind the jazz horns. Dee added a piano that makes this track really outstanding. This is one worth ripping and putting on your computer.
Oodles of O's 3:32~ This is a straight cut from the De La Soul is Dead album that was released in 1991. This is laid back philosophical track with lyrics like:
"All I is a man and once an embryo
Am I solid gold? I don't cast a glow
Yes I guess it's reflex
Some have no control
I'd rather let a laughter
And tally off I go"
This is pure De La Soul. Smooth, rhythmic rhymes racing along funky drums capped with old school scratches. The track lacks in depth but makes up for it with the funk factor. You will bob your head with this one. You can't help yourself. Listen to this one enough times and you...

Advantages: Pure James Brown Disadvantages: only 1 disc
...This is a CD containing 20 of JamesBrown's best hits. It has songs ranging from Get Up Offa That Thing to Papa's Got A Brand New Bag, from It's a Man's Man's Man's World to Living In America. The complete track listing is below.
Before i bought this CD i'd only heard of Papa's Got A Brand New Bag (bad for a DJ i know) by JamesBrown's but ever since i bought it i can't get enough of him. It has to be the Funk mix with the soul that does it for me. The best thing was i picked this copy up from some supermarket for a pittence of what it should have been. Only £3.50 ish i think. Is well worth the £10 a high street shop would charge. I believe it is now possible to get pretty cheap copies of the net.
If you love anything James has done you'll love this CD. Highly Recommended. The track list is as follows:

With just hearing this first single and the rest of the album yet to leak, many were already writing the guy off as it didn't hit anywhere near as hard as his first single, 'Run It!', becoming his least successful single to date only peaking at #79 on the US billboard and #75 in the UK charts. This would be the first time the artist had a release that was more successful on our shores than his native country, although nothing to write home about and 'Run It's success easily eclipsed it - that original track...
