Remixed - Scissor Sisters

Advantages: fun songs that you will be humming for weeks
Disadvantages: never going to be the coolest or most original band

...When I first heard the Scissor Sisters, I was suitably impressed. However, I did not find out their name until about two weeks later. The song was Comfortably Numb, a cover of a Pink Floyd song. Upon finding this out I went to my dad's record collection and played the original. Once I had heard that I realised the Scissor Sisters had more to them than just one track, the cover was far better than the original. 1. Laura 7/10 This was the first song released by this band and, although not a bad song and certainly a good opening track for an album, I wouldn't have put it as a single. Maybe that's why they aren't known for this song. There are better tracks on the album, but it is a decent enough song. 2. ...I bought the Scissor Sisters self titled album recently and can’t stop playing it. After listening to the album for a few weeks now I have finally decided upon my favourite songs. I love Filthy/Gorgious, It can't come quickly enough, Return to Oz, Laura and Take Your Mama (Ihave fallen in love with the video.) In my opinion the Scissor Sisters will appeal to a broad age group and people with varied music tastes. There is something in this CD for everyone. I will try to give you a ‘feel’ for the sounds contained within this album describing them as best I can by mentioning other groups/styles of music. The Scissor Sisters consist of :- Jake Shears & Ana Matronic (singers). Babydaddy & Del Marquis (guitars) and Paddy Boom (drums). ...Overview I haven't liked the scissor sisters for very long and the first song that I heard andreally liked was Laura. It is really catchy and I got hooked. I don't have many of their albums as I'm quite a cheap skate (they won't get to number 1 if they wait for me to buy their music). I tend to wait till there is major discount where I can get great music at a fraction of the cost. Who are the Scissor Sisters Forgive me if this isn't absolutley correct. This is the debut album from five piece New York outfit Scissor Sisters. Formed by lead singer Jake Shears and multi-instrumentalist Babydaddy the band play a bizarre mix of New York punk and glam rock while being heavily influenced by thelikes of Roxy Music and David Bowie through to Giorgio Moroder and even rock operas.
