If you are a big fan of Mariah then you will probably be familiar with most of the tracks on this 2CD album. If you are just a passing admirer of Mariah, then you will know the songs in some way or another. If you are a frequent clubber then you will also be familar with some of these tunes as they were big hits in the clubs. If you think Mariah is just a wailing cat then listen to this and I defy you not to be tapping your toes by the end! Whatever your experience of MC, this is a worthy addition to anyone's CD collection.
Mariah has always been expert at choosing remixers for her songs. David Morales frequently remixes her tunes and some of his work can be found here. The same can be said for Junior Vasquez. The trouble is, there are sooo many fabulous Mariah remixes out there, that this album needed to be longer! It would have been better if the album was made up entirely of remixes.
Some of the best RnB remixes to look out for on the album include: 'Fantasy', 'Always be my baby', 'My all/stay awhile' and 'Thank God I found you'.
Some of the best 'club' mixes on the album to look out for are: 'Heartbreaker/if you should ever be lonely', 'Anytime you need a friend' and 'My all'.
There are 5 tracks which are not remixes at all. Admittedly they are all great tracks but I'm not sure why they ended up on the album as they can all be found on other Mariah CDs. These include: 'Sweetheart', 'Crybaby' (a corker feat. Snoop Dogg), and 'I know what you want' which she recorded with Busta Rhymes - a big hit, a big tune!
