The title track Nympho features VanHelden himself under the strange psuedonym Virgin Killer - he has a tendency to scream alot on this track and the others that he is featured in. some of you might like this kind of thing, but i think it spoils the tracks ever so slightly and is a bit off putting when trying to listen to the beats and words!
Come Play features a cover group called Creme Blush. This song i feel is slightly milder than some of the others, but is still in VanHeldens mixed up style.
Sugar features another artist called Jessy Moss, another I've never heard of before! The track is almost vampy, with a different beat and sound to the more garage and funky beats.
Into Your eyes and When the Lights Go Down have the same funky, almost pop-like beat as My My My - the songs may be deemed repetive with a lack of other vocals but i ...
Advantages: Varying styles, Many top quality tracks Disadvantages: A couple of below standard tracks
Two years ago, "You Don't Know Me" was a massive chart success for American based DJ, ArmandVanHelden. With the vocal prowess of Duane Harden accompanying a catchy base line, the track shot from the clubs straight to chart success. VanHelden's only previous commercial breakthrough had come in the form of a remix of Tori Amos's "Professional Widow", which hit number 2 in the charts in 1996. Two months after "You Don't Know Me" was released, the album "2 Future 4 U" also hit the shops on FFRR (Full Frequency Range Recordings).

The first track on the album is called "Mother Earth", and features vocals by Tekitha Washington, a female member of The Wu-Tang Clan. This track is, in my ...

The biggest challenge facing ArmandVanHelden for this mix cd was not capturing the NY vibe but it was getting the clearance for the tracks. For DJs this can be such a pain, having to get legal permission to use an artists work on the cd, but it seems to have worked just fine as he's pulled out some of the big guns for this mix.
ArmandVanHelden gets his mix off to a start by taking time out at the beginning to talk to the listener, a bit unusual. But over a funky electro track he talks in his husky New York accent about what exactly the cd is about. It's only brief but it's great see what he was thinking for this mix. Declaring "Let's get back to that good feeling vibe ...
