I didn’t know any of Limp Bizkit’s new songs so it was a wild guess if I would like this album. I have another of their albums, Chocolate Starfish, and I do think that results may vary is slightly better because of the mixture of the type of songs. There are two versions of this album, one with a Bonus Limited Edition DVD included and the other without this DVD…but they both cost the same!
The Casing and Cover
The album with the free DVD has a red, blue and white sticker on the front with the Limp Bizkit sign at the top, the albums name (Results May Vary), ‘featuring “eat you alive”’ and then ‘includes bonus limited edition DVD’ in capitals. The front cover of the actual CD case is green with Fred Durst’s face on it. The back has the Limp Bizkit sign in white. It has a vertical green stripe on the side of the back and the 17 songs are printed in white and they are printed so you have to turn the CD 90o to read them. It also has a photo of Fred Durst in a crowd singing a song on the back that seems to be so bright it hasn’t come out very well. The CD case is the usual album thickness.
Inside the Case
Inside, there is the usual little booklet on the lid, which has the words, limpbizkit in the top right hand corner, directly underneath this, it says "results may vary", in smaller letters. In the bottom left hand side it states "Parental Advisory Explicit Content". The booklet has the lyrics and a few photographs inside it. There is the CD, which resembles a white safety tablet bottle lid with ‘close tightly’ and ‘while pushing down turn’ written in red on it. The CD holder can be lifted up like a lid, to reveal the free DVD underneath.
Songs and Lyrics
There are 17 songs on the album, 1. Re entry (2:37minutes), this is just an intro to the album, but good. 2. Eat you alive (3:56mins), I thought this song was brilliant, it’s obviously about a girl that doesn’t like the look of him and thinks she’s too good for him. A heavy song. 3. Gimmie the mic (3:01mins), this song was heavy all the way through and very good but has a lot of swear words. 4. Underneath the gun (5:41mins), this song isn’t heavy at all nearly and half of it is about loneliness and then goes on singing about something else. The chorus of this song is 2 lines long, the whole song is good. 5. Down another day (4:06mins), this is another non-heavy song about seasons going from summer to winter and then summer coming back. 6. Almost over (4:38mins), this song is hardly heavy except the chorus. It’s all about how someone growing up and all the things that happened to him when he was a little boy and then when he was older. 7. Build a Bridge (3:57mins), this song is another non-heavy tune and is about how a man hopes that if he keeps building then something will come. 8. Red light-green light (3:55mins), this song is like soft rap but a load of nonsense and full of swear words. 9. The only one (4:09mins), this is about someone getting to know his girl before something happens between them. It’s quite a heavy song. 10. Let me down (4:16mins), this song is all about heartache and it’s not so heavy but is heavy in some places. 11. Lonely world (4:34mins), this song isn’t heavy anywhere. It’s about someone’s life in the past and childhood. 12. Phenomenon (3:56mins), this is heavy song at the beginning but don’t be put off. It’s a great song, I can’t tell what it’s about. 13. Creamer (radio is dead) (4:31mins), this song is all about someone who is trying to be something they’re not. It’s not so heavy but good. 14. Head for the barricade (3:32mins), I loved this song, especially the chorus. It’s not quite heavy except the chorus. It’s about someone who gets angry and want’s to fight. 15. Behind blue eyes (4:38mins), this song is nice and peaceful. It’s about someone who no one likes and is all alone in the world. 16. Drown (3:51mins), this song is about someone who has accomplished everything in his life and is about to die and he can see the angels. It’s a nice non-heavy song. 17. Let it go (5:11mins), this is a good song. They have put no lyrics in the booklet on this song.
There are 27 swearwords in the whole album, you may think it’s a lot but it’s nothing compared to what Chocolate Starfish had. Most of the songs don’t have swear words in them, it’s just about 5 or six that have a fair lot. If you’re into non-stop heavy metal, then this isn’t the album for you. But is certainly worth buying if you like a bit of relaxing music as well as heavy.
Advantages: Good combo of heavy rock and mellow music. Disadvantages: not much wrong quite a good album
Limp Bizkit returned to the Rock scene September 2003 with there latest offering “Results May Vary”. This was the first album back after the love thing between Britney and Fred. People expected it to show his feelings for her and in particular women. This was Limp Bizkit’s first album with out the well know guitarist Wes Borlan (The guy who wore paint!). New guitarist Mike shows his skills on tracks like Underneath The Gun, and Let It Go.
The cover ... ...on the front. Inside the disc is like the top of medicine bottle. Then when you lift up the CD its looks like the inside of a bottle and it has capsules with the limp bizkit logo on them. A clever play on the title of the album. Track Listings
1.Re-Entry (Intro with All Around The World) – Very good intro for an intro.
2. Eat You Alive – one of the best songs on the album. Very heavy song the kind of song that needs to be played loud. One of the ...

Advantages: Some good tracks, Some good melodic tracks,Nice change too! Disadvantages: A lot of bad tracks, pretentious childish lyrics,Snoop doggs pointless appearance.
The thing with Results may vary is not thats its a particuarly BAD record, its just that its not a particuarly GOOD one either,It doesnt seem to lead anywhere throughout. The first thing you will hear upon entry on the cd is the intro, with snoop doggy dog doing some vocals, its not a bad intro, but still doesnt beat Significant others great intro. The opening track 'Eat you alive' is the strongest point of the album, some nice riffage here with ... ...oh well. Lyrically Results May Vary is quite awful. A grown man whining about girlfriends and things that would seem pretentious to a 17 yr old. Its quite obvious this is catered towards the younger crowd, with its pointless swearing and needless self pity. However musically a good portion of this album is good and well done,It shows a completely different side to Limp bizkit and is a welcome change on most tracks, some nice riffs, some good drumming ...

Album Notes
Limp Bizkit: Fred Durst (vocals, guitar); Sam Rivers (guitar, bass); Mike Smith (guitar); John Otto (drums); DJ lethal. Additional personnel: Snoop Dogg (rap vocals). Producers: Terry Date, Fred Durst, Rick Rubin, DJ Lethal From the infamous open-call auditions to the eleventh hour recruitment of former Snot axeman Mike Smith, finding a suitable guitarist to replace Wes Borland proved to be a daunting task for Limp Bizkit. Pushing off somewhat from their trademark rap-metal model, the songs that comprise RESULTS MAY VARY display a band reaching musically. "Gimme the Mic" carries on the spirit the band found success with on SIGNIFICANT OTHER, but the majority of this latest effort finds frontman Fred Durst and company leaning towards a more melodic and musical stance, both instrumentally and vocally. Nods to contemporaries sneak in on "Eat You Alive" and "Down Another Day," (with a clear Tool influence prevailing), and uber-producer Brendan O'Brien mixes in a crisp, biting production. The lyrics to the classic Who track "Behind Blue Eyes" struck enough of a responsive chord with Durst that he was inspired to cover it, going so far as to add an additional verse. Rap metal may be going the way of the dinosaur, but Limp Bizkit seems to have the staying power to carry on.
