The thing with Results may vary is not thats its a particuarly BAD record, its just that its not a particuarly GOOD one either,It doesnt seem to lead anywhere throughout.
The first thing you will hear upon entry on the cd is the intro, with snoop doggy dog doing some vocals, its not a bad intro, but still doesnt beat Significant others great intro.
The opening track 'Eat you alive' is the strongest point of the album, some nice riffage here with Fred letting loose some classic nu metal screaming alongside a more melodic verse that has Fred whining on about some girl.
Next is 'Gimme the Mic', again quite a strong track theres some catchy riffs and its a fairly heavy song for Limp Bizkits style and it does the job, however the lyrics are extremely pretentious and a bit a silly really, but if you dont care about that your going to enjoy that song.
'Underneath the gun' is another strong point on the album, its a slow melodic song, with some retro feeling riffs as fred does Aaron Lewis from Staind singing, ' Ive been working so hard'. It works well though and is probably the second best track on the album.
Now it goes all wrong, badly wrong from track 4 to track 14 the songs are a huge let down. Mostly uninspried ballad attempts or rap metal efforts they fail to either deliver catchy riffs, good lyrics or a decent piece of melodic soft rock.
Head for the barricade lifts the tempo up a bit with some nice drumming and riffs, and a quite brutal bridge. Following that is a COVERED ballad 'Behind Blue Eyes'.
This is also a good song, but its only good because The Who wrote it first, still its a good cover. At this point you may think the album is picking up, shame theres only one more track to go 'Drown' and thats rather boring to say the least, shame they didnt end the album on 'Behind Blue Eyes' and end on a high, but oh well.
Lyrically Results May Vary is quite awful. A grown man whining about girlfriends and things that would seem pretentious to a 17 yr old. Its quite obvious this is catered towards the younger crowd, with its pointless swearing and needless self pity.
However musically a good portion of this album is good and well done,It shows a completely different side to Limp bizkit and is a welcome change on most tracks, some nice riffs, some good drumming and overall competence, slightly let down by a man who cant pen a song for anyone over 16.
In the end the results will Vary and Fred knows this, its a nice change for a while, but its just not quite there in terms of lyrics and content, fans will find some enjoyment here, but those who can take or leave Limp bizkit are best off sticking to the new Korn album, or to get out Toxicity again, its a bridge too far for most fans, Lets hope they can deliver more quality over quantity next time around.

Interesting review. Personally not one of Limp Bizit's admirers. Maureen

I was always sceptical about them a man in his 30's who is also a record company exec.. writing stuff that i'd have thought was deep and meaningfull 25 years ago.
