Reverence - Faithless
With a production sound firmly rooted in club culture (Faithless ringleader Rollo was

responsible for Felix's dancefloor anthem "Don't You Want Me" and co-conspirator Sister Bliss can claim to be the world's most successful female DJ), Reverence allies house beats with shades of hip hop, blues, reggae and soul. The majority of the tracks are infused with the rhymes of Buddhist rapper Maxi Jazz, often elegant, sometimes incongruous but always distinctive. The album's breadth of ambition sometimes means Faithless spread themselves too thinly: witness the mediocre acoustic pop of "Don't Leave" and the clicheed sensuality of "If Lovin' You Is Wrong". The band are at their most memorable on the tracks which worked so well on the dancefloor: the housey hi-hats, urgent synths and insistent beats of "Salva Mea" and "Insomnia" will be recalled fondly by many a clubber. --Ed Potton
...I cant get no sleep! Goes their hit insomnia. I think faithless are one of those bands what you don’t think you know but you know all their songs. Faithless have had tons of hits but no one realises it, from the club successes insomnia and god is a dj to the more chartier I want my family back andopen your mind. Faithless are quality but their success as a band hasn’t been recognised and therefore they don’t get mentioned or played as much as I or them would like, show some support and buy one of their albums, you wont be dissapointed, and you might find that, that track you’ve been humming for ages is actually one of theirs!...

Advantages: great diversity and variety Disadvantages: maybe tries to cover too may styles
...Rollo had been known as Felix (Don't you Want Me?), and Sister Bliss had worked as a DJ and musician throughout the acid house days, Maxi Jazz had been involved in sound systems around London, and Jamie Catto had been growing his hair and developing some great song writing skills. There paths had most likely overlapped on numerous occasions, but during the mid 90's the four joined together to form Faithless. One of the UK's premier dance acts, and one of the world's biggest dance supergroups.
The first album had done miserably when first released, even the first single, Salva Mea had hardly dented the charts. Then they released Insomnia, and the rest is history. Number one singles and huge gigs all over Europe, DJ sets in Australia and slots on Jools Holland have catapulted the foursome into one of the premier bands of recent years...

Advantages: Superb album from start to finish Disadvantages: Nothing
...This is the Faithless' second album after Reverence. I didn't have the first but I really liked some of their songs to date, so bought this one, and was really glad I did!
It is really really good. The music is quite mellow, and not heavy or hard at all. The music has a good blend of basslines, sampled sounds, vocals, and instrumental stuff. The songs here are varied, and keep you interested from the start to the very end.
God is a DJ was one of the singles from this album, which is a brilliant song. Those others on here worthy of note are Bring my Family back and The Garden, along with Sunday 8pm. If you don't have this album but enjoyed anything else Rollo, or the guys have done before then you must buy this!!!...
