A Classic Debut Album
Review of 40 Oz. To Freedom - Sublime (Punk) by voicelessness

Advantages: Great lyrics, melody, instrument-playing, DJing
Disadvantages: Bradley isn't alive to make any more great music

...go with Sublime's debut album: 40 Oz To Freedom. Sublime played a vast range of styles, from reggae to hardcore and 40 Oz is no exception. Every track is full of melody, great lyrics, and very talented musicianship. Eric's fantastic bass-playing, Bud's various rhythms, Marshall Goodman's slick turntablism, and Brad's powerful vocals all combine to form the band's sound. What it says on the tin... Just Sublime
Review of 40 Oz. To Freedom - Sublime (Punk) by BZ2886

Advantages: Potentially timeless, vast musical spectrum

Almost thirty tracks confirms its status as one of those value for money albums and there are so many stand out tracks on this record that it would futile to list them. The album has a very free-flowing feel to it, ... Read review

"This album is nothing but Sublime"
Review of 40 Oz. To Freedom - Sublime (Punk) by sublime_sam

Advantages: Really great songs written with much care and thought
Disadvantages: Too much crammed on

40oz to Freedom is the first release by Ska/reggea/hiphop legends Sublime. Being a huge Sublime fan, i have to say this is my favourite album, it includes some really effective and funky samples mixed with Brad's unique, soft and quite simply stunning vocal style. He likes a good old guitar solo does Brad, and theres certainly no lacking of that here. Upbeat drumming and smooth basslines ensure that every tune on this album is going to stick in ...
