8701 was released back in July 2001 by a 22 year old Usher as his follow up from his previous two albums. He was only 15 when he released his first album back in 1994 and since then has gone right up in the chart ratings. He typically sang songs which was firmly within the r n b genre that would be sported by singers such as P Diddy and Ja Rule today yet he also shows hints of a more laidback pop genre as well in this album.
"Intro Lude" is the ... ...long, it seems to be a regular occurrence of the majority of American artists to open their albums with an interlude or introduction. I admit I have a 'little' thing for Usher! Well actually a rather 'HUGE' crush on him! He is so incredibly lovely and he now has a matching album to go with his charming looks, a charming album named '8701'!!! ...anywhere near as good as 8701. Then I heard that the song "Yeah" which I loved, was quite a rare type of song on the album, that it was mostly ballads. And I generally prefer the more upbeat Usher track so I've refrained from buying the new one.
However, on 8701, it is rare that you come across a track that ISN't funky and upbeat. It is one of the few albums that I can virtually listen all the way through, without skipping anything (and it has the ... ...just does not compare to 8701. Usher's voice is much stronger and in general his songs are too. He's obviously got a lot of help behind him with great co-writers and producers, but he has contributed to the writing in the album and I think this helps in terms of putting his own personal experiences into songs. I hope his new tendency towards ballads isn't a sign of his maturity because its a worrying thought that we might not get the "fun" Usher ...

Advantages: soooooooo sexy!! Disadvantages: The slow songs
This is an excellent album, Usher obviously put a lot of thought into each individual song (unlike a lot of albums I have bought recently where they would have their chart songs and then an album filled rubbish to fill it up)
Before I bought this album I hadn't actually heard any songs off of it I had only ever heard 'you make me wanna' from his last album which was excellent. So you can imagine my relief to find it was worth the money.
Since I ... ...because I just want to listen to it all the time especially number 7 which is by far the best song on this fabulous album.

I've been a fan of Usher since the first single, 'U Make Me Wanna' was released in Britain. It went to #1, an excellent representation of his talent. The second release did not do so well.
Usher went quiet for a few years, and is now back with his second album, '8701', an amazing follow-up. The first release was 'Pop Ya Coller' - although it didn't appeal to me greatly it was a good choice for a first release - catchy, dancy and happy.
This was ... ...sexy video. The lyrics are sad - yet the single is still catchy and memorable. His ;atest release - 'U Got It Bad' - has to be most definitely the best track on the album. Slow and smoochy, this is Usher at his best - if you thought the video to 'U Remind Me' was sexy (as I did), wait till you see this!!! The slow numbers are always the best in my opinion - the lyrics are true to life and well performed, showing himself off to be the best entertainer.

Great album!!
I bought this album years ago when it first came out and I loved it. To this day I will still listen to the album on my Ipod in the car.
This album consists of 16 songs and an intro so 17 tracks in total. It features hits such as 'U Remind Me', 'U Got It Bad', 'U-Turn', 'Pop Ya Collar', and many that haven't been released.

I got this Album as a gift and I wanted to take it back straight away. But when I sat down and listened to it I was shocked, as I always for Usher had a huge ego and no talent to back it up. Usher obviously put a lot of thought into writing and perfecting each individual song. I originally bought this song because I was dancing to "Pop ya colla" but after listening to it I realised that it is more than a dance practising CD. There are a lot of RnB tunes on it as such hits as "You remind me" "you got it bad" and "U-turn" he always got the ladies fainting and calling out his name. You can tell that obviously he is a record producer himself(after ... ...to P diddy with some of these expertision tunes.
Ushers voice is one of a kind and unlike most pop and RnB groups nowadays he created his own material.
But I've never been a fan of slow songs and that was the only downer about this album,apart from that it was perfection. ...

I have only become a fan of Usher quite recently! Yes i liked him previous music but i didnt feel it was anything to shout about. Until i bought his current album (8701). And i am so glad i bought his currnt album. It includes his recent hits and some really good songs which will give other singles a run for there money when released. The vocals are excellent but my favourite track still has to be "U Remind Me" I dont know is another great track ...

I like this album, alot. Its very mixed, most of it is hard r'n'b, its got a couple of ballads on it that are easy listening to, its got very good dance tracks, make u wanna dance around a bit! Some of the tracks are really easy and good to relax to. I would recommend this album to anyone, usher fan or not!! It's definatly worth every penny! i love usher!! as well as his songs that are really relaxing and very hip!! it makes the listeners groove and sing along with it. The songs are calming and not that noisy, not that quiet. he's sexy and has his own originality. Each song is worthwhile listening! I suggest you buy this.
