Advantages: The songs all vary a lot
Disadvantages: Won't appeal to everyone

I first heard about this band about 8 months ago when I heard Bliss on Kerrang. I didn't like it at first but it slowly grew on me. By the time I heard that they had a new album coming out, I quite Bliss so decided to go out and buy it. Advantages: Excellent, loud, bouncy, mixed styles
Disadvantages: Takes a couple of listens to get into it

Disadvantages: Can understand why some people dont get Muse

Advantages: Great variance, superb tracks, brilliant instrument work.
Disadvantages: Too short!

...With an interesting sleeve design, Absolution is one of the best albums in my collection. From "Apocalypse Please" to “Ruled By Secrecy”, Absolution is an album that will tingle your senses. Matt Bellamy is a great musician. Nothing more can be said really. He has exceptional guitar skills and is a great piano player, not to mention his fantastic, almost haunting singing voice. Advantages: Some great tracks,
Disadvantages: Not a huge progression

...sombre note. Anyway I’d say Absolution is not a huge leap forward in sound for Muse but it’s a definite progression in terms of music. They’re using a great deal more instruments and experimentation on this record. There are some great songs, perhaps there aren’t as many good singles on this album but that’s no bad thing. Disadvantages: NOT ENOUGH SONGS!

I first learnt about Muse when i was watching the good old music channels and saw their video 'Time is running out' on Q. Advantages: Overall bulk of album is excellent, Piano, guitars,vocals, drums all excellent! Top class musicians.
Disadvantages: couple of songs that arent quite up to par with the rest of the album.

...idea of whats to come, Absolution does this perfectly. First off theres a little 20 odd second intro which is some sort of war march, classic marching drum beat here. But what it leads onto is far far better. The first song of the album is 'APOCALYPSE PLEASE' and I give dull credit to Muse for being able to incorporate Piano into rock music so well. Disadvantages: They are somehow going to have to follow it!

Muse have always had that cunning knack of making the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Their catchy piano intros and electrifying guitar riffs make them by far the most exciting band to come out of the UK in years. Advantages: Every track is unique, loads of vairety, awesome vocals and lyrics
Disadvantages: Some songs won't appeal to everyone

...very dark song. Sing For Absolution was the 4th single to be released from this album. After 2 really dark tracks, this one is more cheery, and is a wonderful ballad. Stockholm Syndrome was the 1st single to be released from this album. It's a very upbeat song with an awesome catchy riff. Advantages: Wailing Matt Bellamy, Lovely chord progressions, uplifting darkness
Disadvantages: No "origin of symmetry" but still, a first class album!

...sense of an idealistic world. Absolution links in well with this religious feel, and to the title of the album, and the listener is left feeling that they want to repent their sins immediately. 5)Stockholm Syndrome One of the heaviest songs on the album, with a great sound being created! Disadvantages: Not keen on all tracks...Some stick out more than others

Absolution is Muse's 3rd album and was released in 2003....I've had it all this time and I'm still not bored with it. Muse who are from Devon in the UK have been together since 1994. throughout the years they have gone from strength to strengh and still release music of a high standard. Advantages: There are a few really exceptional tracks which will be liked by even the most hardcore pop fan.
Disadvantages: Some slow tracks, which will only be appreciated by people who really love rock.

...store, I would still recommend absolution as it isn't too heavy so its a good album to get you started in your journey towards rock salvation. But if you have never even heard of the word rock I would suggest that you try something a bit weaker such as Sum 41, as Muse maybe a bit too much for you.
