It seemed very different from the older Smashing Pumpkins albums that I knew, and I was ready to write it off as a waste of money. no, it does. it is a truly excellent album, although not quite in the same league as "mellon collie" or "siamese dream", i haven't heard a band produce two albums as good as that and follow them up with a completely different, piano driven work of genius like this. Adore was not a commercial success when it was intitally released, however, the steps album was so If I was Corgan and Co' I wouldnt be too worried about that. This is a mellodic outpouring from the pumpkins, and is something that you can sit back and listen to. Although I actually fell asleep listening to this CD just the other day, I was tired to start with. At times Corgan's wining does get a little annoying, but if you cant cope with that then ...
...lacks rock elements somewhat, and I dont belive that it compares that favourably to Machinea. Buying this CD is not a waste of money, I actually quite like it, sometimes you need something a little more relaxed and that you can put on in the background, theres nothing grownd breaking here, perhaps something for fans only. If you like alternative music, this album is one to add to your collection. It is one of the most brilliant albums I have ever heard. I could hear this one over and over again. Although some of the lyrics in the album maybe considered disturbing, its always good to remember alot of the lyrics are metaphorical and are being used to express the depth of emotion or thought or anger. The album is truly beautiful and comes across as so real. Not rubbish ...
...an album out to make some money. When you hear this album you know alot of time, love and effort has gone into putting this beautiful record together. If you're open minded about the beautiful ugly... this is an album to hear.... If you like alternative music especially during the early to mid 90's trust me you are missing out without this one.. go out and get it!! ...
