...studios in California and recorded Appetite for Destruction. Little did they know that it would become the greatest hard rock album ever. Upon its initial release it didn't go anywhere, at least until the video for Sweet Child O' Mine got massive airplay on MTV. The album would go to #1 a year after its release, driven by such classics as Sweet Child, Welcome to the Jungle, and Paradise City. During this time, hair metal and glam rock was sweeping ...

...GN’R Lies in 1989.
Now onto Appetite for Destruction. The cover features the GN’R cross a design made by Mr. Slash himself. Recorded at Rumbo Studios in California, this CD (although I still have my original cassette!) is a mixed bag of sex drugs and rock and roll. Certainly not one for the faint of heart.

Advantages: Some quality, typically Guns n' Roses tunes Disadvantages: couple of weak links
I bought Appetite for Destruction about two years ago and instantly I loved it. This was a big release for Guns n’ Roses in 1987 and the one that propelled them to stardom. This album was released on the Geffen label, a part of MCA. For those of you who are unaware who Guns n’ Roses are, let me fill you in with a bit of history about the band. This, as I mentioned, was their first release with the original band set-up of Axl Rose doing vocals, Slash ...

...songs and their debut album Appetite for Destruction stands as testament to this.
Through out the early eighties the various members who were to gel into one of the finest street rock bands of its time paid their dues with the struggling musicians of its time. Some of these bands came and went without troubling the music press too much, such as Hollywood Rose, the band that first through singer Axl Rose and guitarist Izzy Stradlin, and Road Crew ...

...all time metal band, and Appetite for Destruction is one of the best examples of that.
Here's a rundown of the tracks:
1. Welcome To The Jungle (4:31)
Well what can you say about this track, it has everything a metal song should have, a great opening guitar riff, which leads into an equally great bridge to the rhythm. Great rhythm throughout with great lead guitar over the top of it, going into a subtle guitar solo. The lyrics are extremely ...

Advantages: Timeless Classics Disadvantages: A few songs which are almost as good
A brave 16 year old boy, ventures into an independant record store. Putting on a brave face, ready for humiliation, he picks up Guns N'Roses 'Appetite For Destruction'. Walks over to the desk, puts it on the counter, recieves a dodgy look from the sales assistant. I give him smile of pride and non-caring, I'm proud of buying this great album, and I don't giva damn what anyone else thinks about it. That is why I am writing an opinion on it. The album ...

Wow. This album has all the raw components of a great rock album. Possibly one of the best and most notorious rock albums of all time.
Appetite for Destruction is a killer album, featuring the famous tracks such as:
"Welcome to the Jungle" – opening with “Oh My God” and a distinctive, tumbling guitar riff this track gets you straight in the mood for good rock… not to be let down by the sharp bass opening to “Its ...

Appetite for destruction, an album filled to the brim with, exciting, astounding, and technically excellent music. Without the amazing kickstart that this album gave them Guns'N'Roses would have been much later on beginning their trip to becoming the unforgettable Behemoths of Rock that they are now. The album does not leave the listener with a second to breathe with the stunning melodies of sweet child O' Mine to the rhythmic headbanging of My Michelle. ...

...the only difference being that appetite was full of nothing but gems whereas all the other albums had some great little gems but also their fair share of throwaway filler tracks, which is why some people are not impressed much by this band, though I can tell you that if you listen to this album the chances are you will disagree with those people
This album is aggressive from start to finish and yet somehow subtle and gentle in places, a good example ...

Advantages: Great great great Disadvantages: None
Any rock fan worth their salt would have to have this album as part of their collection - it's a complete classic.
Tracks like Welcome to the Jungle and Paradise City, together with Sweet Child O Mine make it one of the best remembered albums ever. It epitimised everything about what we believed in back then (when i was a mere lass) - drugs, rock n roll, doing your own thing etc and not conforming to society.
Admittedly, following the departure ...

Advantages: Disadvantages:
...Roses first UK album release, Appetite for Destruction, is also arguably there best album. It was originally released in the United Kingdom back in August 1987. It managed to peak at number five and stay in the charts for over 100 weeks. I didn't however get around to buying it until five years later, but was still delighted with its content. The songs are all hard rock, but some have a strangely mellow feel to them. This album is not for the easily ...

As for Appetite for Destruction there really is nothing can be criticized. Every track is a true classic, with great musicianship, great production and a great feeling of energy to every track. Even 15 years after its release it still sells plenty, and 'Sweet Child o Mine' is still played every weekend at ...
