Advantages: Plenty of Melody despite aggressiveness, Plenty of Radio Hits Disadvantages: Its so good that your left wanting much more
...the only difference being that appetite was full of nothing but gems whereas all the other albums had some great little gems but also their fair share of throwaway filler tracks, which is why some people are not impressed much by this band, though I can tell you that if you listen to this album the chances are you will disagree with those people
This album is aggressive from start to finish and yet somehow subtle and gentle in places, a good example ... ...which everyone by now probabaly knows as the love song axl wrote for his fiancee of the time, the album is a delight from the very first opening riff on welcome to the jungle to the final few moments of rocket queen and is without doubt one of the most intense and compelling listening experiences that any wannabe rocker will ever have
The musicianship on this album is incredible and is a genuine delight to hear mostly because there is not one member ...

Any rock fan worth their salt would have to have this album as part of their collection - it's a complete classic.
Tracks like Welcome to the Jungle and Paradise City, together with Sweet Child O Mine make it one of the best remembered albums ever. It epitimised everything about what we believed in back then (when i was a mere lass) - drugs, rock n roll, doing your own thing etc and not conforming to society.
Admittedly, following the departure ... ...to go downhill following that, with people joinging and leaving the band all over the place.
As a live act they were excellent, but this is the album that is my timepiece - magically transforming me back 13 years to my early teenage years.
This will probably be the only album in years to come that the Gunners are remembered by. ...

...Roses first UK album release, Appetite for Destruction, is also arguably there best album. It was originally released in the United Kingdom back in August 1987. It managed to peak at number five and stay in the charts for over 100 weeks. I didn't however get around to buying it until five years later, but was still delighted with its content. The songs are all hard rock, but some have a strangely mellow feel to them. This album is not for the easily ... ...it. Welcome to the jungle, the opening track and Night train are very similar, but both great. If you are a Guns N Roses fan, you should seriously contemplate purchasing this fine album, and even if you are into hard rock you should have a listen. A true historical album, will be around for decades to come. ...

Review of Appetite For Destruction [PA] - Guns N' Roses
Advantages: A fantastic album, every track a good one Disadvantages: Will probably cause prolonged damage to eardrums
With the release of Appetite for Destruction in 1987, the Guns 'N' Roses era began in which the band would take over the world. And from listening to the music on this album, its not hard to see why. The facts speak for themselves, appetite for destruction has become one of the biggest selling debut albums of all time. Every single track on this amazing album is hard rock at its best, there is not one song on it that does not sound good. The hard ... ...in sweet child of mine has to be heard toi be believed). ...a disappointment.
As for Appetite for Destruction there really is nothing can be criticized. Every track is a true classic, with great musicianship, great production and a great feeling of energy to every track. Listening to this album they really do sound like 'The Most Dangerous Band in the World' as they claimed at the time. Even 15 years after its release it still sells plenty, and 'Sweet Child o Mine' is still played every weekend at rock clubs ...

This is one of the best G'n'R albums of all time in my opinion with some of the best songs on there. This was when the whole band really were at or near their best. Mr Brownstone is one that always gets me singing along, for a start, and the energetic Welcome to the Jungle is a great opening song for the whole album. Night Train is another great one, and there are a few more that also deserve a mention but suffice to say that the album is well worth ...

...take Guns n Roses classic, Appetite for Destruction, and tell _you_ why it's so bad.
Appetite for Destruction is bad because there's no singing in it. The stuff that passes for vocals is - probably - what would happen if you taught an exotic bird to talk and then had it squawk about sex for an hour in an electric chair.
You could even counter me here by saying that lead 'singer' Axl Rose's screech is an 'acquired taste', but I still wouldn't believe ... ...because none apply to this. Appetite for Destruction sounds like it was literally thrown together, with no regard to what might come out.
All three singles need debunking, but let's start with possibly the most flogged, 'Welcome to the Jungle.' Composed of a fist of power chords and one opening note on reverb, it's also Axl Rose at his most intolerable. He shrieks over the top in his scratchy, whiney voice:
'In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle

This has to be the definitive rock album of the 1980s.
Following its release the guns became the biggest rock band
of their time and that is a title they thoroughly deserved. The guns did not believe in koderation and the stories of
their drugs and alcohol excesses can eclipse those of legends
like keith richards and steve tyler. These excesses provided
fuel for great songs like mr brownstone and night train. The
highlights of the album have ... ...and sweet child o mine, a song written in five minutes. The
amazing guitar solo at its finale was thrown in to make the
song sound like they had put some effort into it. Classic stuff
thsi and no rock collection would be complete without it! ...

Guns & Roses 1st album packed full of brilliant rocking tracks. Opens with a brilliant song Welcome to the jungle and it gets better. All the songs feature a cracking guitar solo by Slash. The lyrics are brilliant, only a crazy fucked up guy like Axl Rose could write this.

when people talk about great rock bands guns and roses are usually in the category of one of the greats, and this album is what put them there, "appetite for destruction" was an album at the time (1987) rock music needed and boy did they deliver, with classics like "welcome to the jungle" "paradise city" and super hit "sweet child o'mine" guns n roses were thrown la strip club gigs to stadium rock band. one of the main appeals of guns and roses was ... ...they lived the sex drugs and rock and roll to the extreme with all the members battling drug and alcohol abuse at some point. guns and roses consisted of drummer Steve Adler, bassist duff mckagen, rhythm guitarist izzy stradlin, and the two "supermen" of the group lead guitarist slash, and front man axl rose, rose one of rocks greatest front men was well known for his tantrums and Wildman ways but at there peak everyman wanted to be him and every ...

Just completely perfect album which definitely worth buying. This album I think is their best and coolest. All the songs in here are really good with mixed variatons of music types. For example they have softer songs such as Paradise City and heavy songs such as Out ta get me. Here is the list of songs in the album with a description of each: Welcome To The Jungle: Rock style music very impressive licks but it's more of a joke song. It's So Easy: ... ...Nightrain: One of my all time favourites. It gets really fast towards the end - incredible Out Ta Get Me: Good song describing about someone running away from cops. Mr. Brownstone: Not one of it's best in the album, but quite funny. Paradise City: Softer song, more lively. My Michelle: Kind of happy and not so happy in a way. Think About You: Brilliant love type song which increases in tempo later on. Sweet Child O' Mine: Perfect classic and alternatively ...

Advantages: Original, Raw, Different Disadvantages: Some explicit language
I read an article in a popular music magazine once and it noted the significance of Guns N' Roses using a before and after comparison. It said something similar to this:
Before Guns N' Roses: Aerosmith were the best rock n' roll band
After: Aerosmith were those old guys in that RUN DMC video

Guns N' Roses, however, came along and sang new original music about their real lives, with some of the ...

I have been a Guns N' Roses fan for a along time now. I even went to see the new line-up of the band on tour in the summer of 2006. I'm not sure what draws me to them. Perhaps it's the grandeur and eccentricity of it all. Or maybe it's because, once upon a time, sunset strip 1987, they really were the most dangerous band in the world.
This album is the by-product of that and you can almost hear the memories screaming out, perfectly voiced by a young ... ...the original line-up (Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler). It's before Axl got hold of synth machines, Slash fell too far into alcohol and Steven Adler fell into the depths of coke addiction. But you always get the sense these things weren't far away, which does nothing but add to the edge of what is already a cutting edge album.
It all kicks off with 'Welcome To The Jungle'. A song known the world over. You only wait ...

Advantages: Very impressive for a debut album. Disadvantages: Axl Rose's gravel voice.
Guns `N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction - Geffen Records Vocals - Axl Rose Guitarists - Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff Mckagan Drummer - Steven Adler I seem to recall first hearing this album in around 1992. One of my friends had bought it and although I didn't really like the type of music this band produced, there were a few songs which stood out. After this I started to take a bit more of an interest in the band. I started to watch the videos on ... ...and the live videos of the same name. In those days, if anybody asked me if I liked `GNR' I always used to say no. For some reason I was ashamed to say that I enjoyed listening to them. Maybe it was because the lead singer Axl Rose (Oral Sex) couldn't really sing, or maybe the heavy rock music wasn't what a 12 year old would normally listen to. When you compare this album to the competition it faced, bands like Bon Jovi, it didn't fare very well. ...
