Advantages: Raw rock and roll Disadvantages: Not for grannys ears.
Gun `n` Roses are, without doubt were one of the best bands to come out of America in the 1980s. They write their songs like mini-biographies, telling stories of their singular and collective experiences during their times as young reckless adults around Americas` West Coast.
The members of the band are: W.Axl Rose, lead and backing vocals, keyboards and percussion. Slash, lead, rhythm and acoustic guitars. Izzy Stradlin`, rhythm adn lead guitars. ... ...backing vocals and Steve Adler, drums.
Appitite For Destruction, their first full studio album, was released in 1987 on the Geffen label. It was produced by Mike Clink and mixed by Steve Thompson and Michael Barbiero.
The tracks include; Welcome to the jungle, an "in yer face" song that tells of the perils of the LA underworld to female new to the experience., It`s so easy, seems to be about someone who has no direction in life and is shunning ...

Advantages: easy to listen to Disadvantages: none i have come across
Appetite for destruction being the first album to be released by Guns n Roses made a very successful entry into the world of Rock n Roll, and set the scene for more musical brilliance to come.
GnR found it hard to obtain a recording contract in their early days, not because the musical talent wasnt there, but because nobody wanted to have to deal with them - 5 reckless young guys who had habits of drinking and drug abuse wouldnt be easy to attend ... ...album. A great song to listen to, this song rounds off appetite well.
Well overall a truly brilliant first album by the legends that are/were GnR, this all-electric album brought a change to rock n roll and left fans dazzled.
An excellent buy and well worth the listen!! ...

Advantages: Guns N Roses Classic Rock Disadvantages: Not enough songs on it
To truly appreciate this album, you have to listen to it as if you were still in the eighties. All you get on the radio is synthesized rock, with the likes of Motley Crue, Kiss, Def Leppard, Duran Duran and Ozzy Osbourne's solo material being the only thing to satisfy your hunger for a bit of rock n' roll. Imagine waking up and knowing that every band out there has a blonde lead singer with earrings and a penchant for white spandex.
Now imagine ... ...an album to put all other albums to shame. This album has a painting on the front of a raped woman that causes so much controversy, it has to be changed after a few hundred copies. Their sound is dirty, grimey, and raw. Their look directly contradicts the preened hair and white spandex of other bands of the moment; they wear dirty jeans, leather jackets and the same t-shirt they've been wearing for the last two weeks. The lead singer can strip paint ...

Advantages: Great Price and great album. Disadvantages: A few weak tracks
Guns and roses are well known for Axel Rose's high pitched squealing and thats about it for most people. But if you actually took the time and the effort to sit down and listen to the album then you would realise that you really are on to something quite amazing when you hear this album. It simply is as the review title suggests the best rock album in the world ever. Every aspect of the album makes for a perfect untouchable album with quite simply ... ...life on the album. Such unforgettable tracks as sweet child o mine and paradise city with a bit of welcome to the jungle simply makes this one hell of a brilliant purchase. The guitar solos are quite simply the best you will ever hear. Slash would have to be nominated for one of the best guitarists in the world and he simply is the most talented guitarst of all time for pulling off little solos like the solo on sweet child of mine. To be quite frank ...

Advantages: Listening to Axl Rose, and Izzy on lead guitar Disadvantages: Just a few swear words
Guns N Roses..... what can I say? Great band with lots of lead guitar solos, drums, percussion and great heavy rock music. Axl Rose, even though he's not exactly my type, really gives the songs everything he can to deliver a raw, raunchy rock act. The songs on this album were, apart from two, written by Guns N Roses, not many acts can say that nowadays. The songs all have the same rocky nature.
Inside the CD is a leaflet which has all the words ... ...you listen to fantastic rock music, you can even sing along to it aswell. I have found that knowing this information has come in very handy on one particular occasion!
Welcome to the jungle was fantastic when it first came out, and still has an excitability about it everytime I hear it. Lyrics do run along quite fast, so can be a bit hard to follow. The song which really pulled me to buy the album was Sweet Child Of Mine. Woah woah woah woah, Sweet ...

Advantages: You don't have to skip any tracks, they are all great. Disadvantages: Not enough tracks
This is the seminal album that exploded guns 'n roses into the limelight in the eighties. I had read many reviews about their live act and had heard a few of their performances. I went and bought this and went straight home to listen to it. From the second that Welcome to the Jungle started I knew this was something special. Axl's amazing voice paired with Slash's true mastery of the guitar need to be heard by everyone who professes a like for music. ... ...might be one of them albums that starts well but then dies on you and to say I was surprised would be an understatement. The next 3 tracks could all have been released as singles and done well in the singles chart, and then comes Mr. Brownstone, an obvious statement of the turmoils experienced by someone with a dependancy on a certain narcotic. Again this was not released as a single which is the biggest surprise of this album. Then we come to Paradise ...

This really is a Rock Album Classic... If you do not own this Collection yet, why not!
This album, unlike the Spaghetti Incident and the Use Your Illusion collections have consistant catchy Classics that are real signature tunes of what could be classed as one of the Greatest Bands of the 80s.
Includes:
Sweet Child o' Mine... look out for the fabulous guitar intro and fills.
Welcome to the Jungle... Axl Rose's raw vocals are great.
Paradise ... ...has other great songs that are equally placed along side the more famous hits.
*** It may be wise to point out that there is some strong language use in some of the songs***
I felt that it was necessary to put my views across as this seems to be an area that female views seem to be lacking. In the end, the album is a valuable addition to any Rock collection and I believe that you will not be disappointed. ...

The definitive Guns n' Roses album. G'N@R's major label debut blew everyone away. Tracks such as Sweet Child O' Mine, Welcome to the Jungle and Paradise City became instant classics and Axel Rose, Slash and company joined the echelons of Rock N Rolls great and good.

Advantages: Classic sleasy rock songs, and a few powerful ballads for good measure. Timeless stuff! Disadvantages: You won't be able to stop listening!
I first got into GN'R a few years ago at the age of 13. Ignoring my peers and the music that enveloped society, I chose to listen to classic rock. One such CD I borrowed from a friend, changed the way I thought about music. Yes, it really is that good!
I had only briefly heard "Mr. Brownstone" before listening to this, so their music was pretty much new to me. Upon hearing the opening riff to the timeless song, "Welcome To The Jungle", I knew something ... ...filled with tales of sex, drugs, and yep, you guessed it - rock n' roll! Songs like "Nightrain" are a testament to that statement!
But it's not all a dirty, gitty affair. Nope, Axl finds himself singing about his ex-girlfriend on the catchy, and anthemic ballad, "Sweet Child O' Mine". That song features one of the most memorable Slash intros, and an excellent solo by the top-hatted, Marlboro smokin' guitarist.
This CD has everything you could wish ...

Appetite for Destruction was a league apart from other albums at the time a gave the Rock/Heavy Metal genre a kick start. Glam bands like Kiss and Motley Crew were battling against the newer thrash bands like Metallica and Anthrax and GnR slotted in nicely with the face paints. The first track “Welcome to the Jungle gives a taste of things to come and Sweet Child of Mine is still rated to be one of the best Metal ballads ever written. This album ...
