Aqua first burst onto the pop scene in this country with their single "Barbie girl" and it was a case of either you loved them or you hated them. Back in the 90's when we were all that bit younger and wilder, when most of the music scene was becoming a little dull and definetly getting repitive along came a wonder band from Denmark. This was Aqua’s first album (not to be confused with their second Aquarius). This is definitely not as good as that one, but it’s still great, fun pop. hey this group from europe is excellent especially the lead singer lene the song im a barbie girl is just too good .though the songs lyrics dont make much sense to me the video has been shot very very well the kids at my block keep humming this number all the time doctor jones is the second best song of this album but i expect few soft and slow numbers from this group they have real talent and sing songs which please kids i dont like their hair ...

...CD for you! Aquarium has spawned many Pop hits including the Number ones, Dr Jones, Turn Back time, My Oh My and Good Morning Sunshine. As well as the hits, Aqua’s debut also has some great feel good tracks. If you love high pitched danish pop singers whose hots include the imfamous 'Barbie Girl' and more recently: 'Doctor Jones', then this album is the one for you. Most of the songs on the Album are quite similar so if you like one, you will like them all which is a considerable advantage having not heard any of the other 9 or 10 tracks. The songs include: almost customary; high pitched vocals, catchy beats and instrumental patterns and all-around ...
...familiar pop rivals don't come close. From personnal interest, I have found that a solo artist called 'Lolly' whos hits include 'Viva La Radio' and many remade versions of classic 80's tracks such as 'Mickey' and Cyndi Lauper's 'Girls Just Wanna have Fun' is the closest artist linked to Aqua in terms of tempo, melody and vocal pitch. What seperated Aqua from Lolly is the use of Self-Written tracks. To be honest, I am not a big fan of remade songs ...

This, the first album from Aqua, may have been more commercially successful than their second, Aquarius, but is by no means as good. This album does have its highlights; mainly the fantastically funny Barbie Girl and the beautiful Turn Back Time. Besides Turn Back Time and Be A Man, the only two slow songs, almost every song does sound similar - although some have a theme (like Doctor Jones = jungle theme and Heat Of the Night = Latino). ...that varies from the formula and is very nice for it. Overall, this album has very similar tunes, fun to listen to, but hardly inspiring or original. There are some great tracks and they’re all great pop songs, but there’s little variation and their second album – Aquarius – is much better. The music sound very dated already and the artwork is extremely weak too, so I’d give it 7 out of 10 – fun, but not original. ...

I think that Aqua is all that they have made music for many things love for children and all that. yet it might be for young people but anyone can be young at heart like my my faverete songs are candy man, roses are red, cartoon hereos and few more, i have sat and watched a three year old standing in the middle of a dance floor at a party barbie girl come on and she came to life the secound she reconised the song singing and dancing to it i thorght ...
