Hailed by Paul Weller himself as his best work in 10 years. And who am I to disagree? As Is Now hit the shops on Monday 10th October, and hit my CD player very shortly afterwards. ...echoes of WildWood, Stanley Road and his Jam days. Those who have heard very little of Paul Weller will simply get their hands on an astonishingly good album. In my opinion, if it counts for anything, this album is well worth shelling out for. It contains a number of well crafted, finely played and exquisitely sung songs. The only down side is the eight minute funk work out on track 13. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but is still a good tune. ...

...can anyone resist such lyrics as "I might have looked but I've never seen your beauty" from The Start of Forever. This CD just confirms that the man is still improving. Savages, another powerful track with words like "you have no Gods, they've all disowned you" is so true of today's world. There is nothing false about Weller, his music or his lyrics everything comes from the heart. As Is Now is an appropriate title - I think he has finally grown ...
