...bottle of mixed emotions" for Ashanti to nervously see her debut album hit the stores, but she needn't of worried as it became a massive hit and when it did hit the number one spot Ashanti felt crazy; "just in the air"!
She not only is a great singer but her song writing abilities shine too, she writes most of her own songs on here. Not only did she help pen the hit "Ain't It Funny (Remix)" for J-Lo and label mate Ja Rule but many others (including ...

Advantages: Good Voice, Well Produced, Good Style Of Album. Disadvantages: Length Of Tracks, Quite Unoriginal, Skits (WHY, WHY, WHY???)
Ashanti is probably still most famous for her collaboration with Ja Rule on his massive hit “Always On Time”. Ja Rule even signed Ashanti to his record label Murda Inc. and she was the first signing to the record label. Ashanti also collaborated with Fat Joe on his hit “What’s Luv?”. She was responsible for singing the very catchy chorus. Because of Ashanti’s popular collaborations it seems she has gained instant ...

Advantages: Happy, Un/Foolish. Disadvantages: Dreams, VooDoo. Unoriginal, not eough variation.
1 - Intro
An effective mash of about seven songs featuring Ashanti, including "Always on Time" and "What's Luv?", which then introduces the next track, "Foolish.
8/10
2 - Foolish
Her first hit single, "Foolish" samples the late Notorious B.I.G.'s hit "One More Chance (Remix)", which sampled some track by Debarge. Great track, but not as good as B.I.G.'s original.
- 9/10
3 - Happy
The second single, and in my opinion, the best track of the ...

Advantages: Beautiful R&B singer with a great voice and some brilliant songs Disadvantages: Where's she gone??
Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas is an American singer who has also dabbled in song writing, record producing, acting, dancing and modelling. She is a very pretty and sexy girl and looks very at home in the US R&B scene. However, she also appears very cute and friendly and always has a sweet smile on her face which makes her stand out from and be more likeable than other female R&B artists, such as Miss Dynamite and Mary J. Blige, who appear more arrogant ...

Advantages: some good ones Disadvantages: some bad ones
People first started hearing about Ashanti when a couple of years ago she started appearing in other peoples music videos and collaborating with other, more established artists including Ja Rule in his song titled “Always On Time” and Fat Joe's single calleds 'Whats luv?'. After all these appearances people started to notice her and become more interested and sure enough, she released her first solo single, 'Foolish'.

Advantages: Most of the songs are fantastic Disadvantages: A couple of duff ones
Ashanti Douglas may have been most famous for her duets with Ja Rule and Fat Joe ("Always on Time" and "What's Love?" respectively) but when she brought out the song "Foolish" she proved she could cut it as a solo artist as well. And her album backed up this idea perfectly.
Ashanti's speciality appears to be a more laid-back, soul-based r & b than many of her contemporaries. This contrast is showed to an even greater extent when you consider she ...

Advantages: great music, relaxing, different Disadvantages: none
Ashanti is a new talented young singer from America. She had a no1 in america followed by her successful album. This album has a lot of great music with Ashanti's smooth voices in the songs. JaRule did a song called Always On Time with her which got hjer well known and left her to carry on the success herself so this is what she has done.

Advantages: Great quality music Disadvantages: May not be up tempo enough for some
...I have ever heard, as Ashanti describes how in love she is.
Track 10: Voodoo; More up tempo track, nice sassy rhythm and good lyrics
Some criticisms of this album is that the first half is better than the second (she goes on a bit of a tangent later) but the quality of the songs on the first half more than make up for that.
Also it may not have enough up tempo songs for some people (its not a party album its a chill out album)
Overall, its ...

Advantages: soulful, brilliantly produced, charming tracks Disadvantages: a bit samey
Ashanti is still one of the biggest names in R&B today and 4 albums later has arguably been able to top her first. The eponymous debut combines sultry slowjams with the odd upbeat club track. Best remember for her collaborations with Ja'Rule in her early days, it was almost inevitable therefore that one of the standout tracks of her debut album would be a collaboration with, yes, that man - the gravel-voiced 'Ja'. Leaving (Always on Time Part 2) is ...

Some good tracks on this album. Some are very relaxing and good background music for playing when gettin ready to go out etc. Some excellent girly tracks very good for listening when you're in an 'independent woman' kinda mood if you get what I mean, loadsa stuff about no good men and the usual.
However, there are bits such as the 'dreams' song which is a bit OTT- little kids saying what they wanna be when they grow up. It;s like she;s trying to ...

Both gorgeous, and talented, Ashanti rocked the stage from that point on, and her debut album, the self-titled "Ashanti", rocketed up through the charts. Songs such as her debut solo single, "Foolish", "Happy", and "Leaving (Always on Time Pt.2)", all add to the sensual and deep flava that this album has to offer.

Ashanti is probably well remembered from her appearance in Ja Rule's "Always on Time" Video back in April 2002.
Ja Rule then signed Ashanti to his record label Murder Inc.
