Advantages: Great all round album Disadvantages: Absolutely none
This album is incredible and quite frankly album of the year. From the first hearing it was established to me as a masterpiece and everytime i hear it, my views don't change. Wow, what a fantastic album. If you are a damiem rice/ embrace fan then you are likly to enjoy this. James blunt should be known for far more than 'beautiful'. That, in my humble opionion, is not the best track on the album by far. This has all the hallmarks of a singer who will go far. the new richard ashcroft I hear and thats pretty damn true.
Blunt had me smiling on tracks 3 and 6. crying on tracks 4 and 10 and singing along at full pelt all ... ...in a time when the dreaded boy-bands are topping the charts and many new acts are one hit wonders, an ex sqaddie can come out of nowhere and grab you by the throat.
Somehow Blunt suceeds in such powerful moving music that goes through you, stiring emotions and surrounding you completly but yet this is chill out at it's best. Far from drab indie drone Blunt gives life to every single lyric. In essence this is why I have labeled this a masterpiece. ...

Advantages: Chilled, Emotional, Great collection of songs Disadvantages: Dreary after a while
This album if never listened to before, will be played and played over and over again. But the problem is after a while it loses the something about it, that made it a good album and the songs start to sound the same, and his unique voice starts to sound droany.

What an artist! Well my god what a well down to earth put together story on the life of james blunt. Best tracks Goodbye my lover, beautiful, No bravery. James Blunt - Back to Bedlam
One of my favourite debut albums from a British artist in years.
James Blunt's "Back to Bedlam" is full of great songs that are emotional and stirring.
There is much more to the album "You're beautiful" is in fact not the best on the album. The press have been unfair to a talented singer/songwriter and to be honest its not fair.
The album has great song including "High" a great first song all by accoustic instruments.
... ...the pain of a love at first sight that will never be.
"Wisemen" excellent song.
"Goodbye My lover" A great song which lays his soul bare.
"Tears & rain" is an very good song, possibly a release in my eyes.
"No bravery" is a heart strings tugger and tells us of blunts time in the army.

...number 1 hit "your beautiful" Back to bedlam is deffinalty the album for you. Every song floods you full of emotion and by the time the music stop you are gagging for more. Intrestingly enough James Blunt was born in England and throughout his time in the RAF has had over come critisiam yet has been able to write one of the best albums around at the moment. The song are absolutley breathtaking. Each song has its own originality and if you loved "your ... ...to another level. He has been compared with the likes of Damian Rice and Keane but James Blunt hold his own originality which definatley shines through in each song.
I would highly recommend Back to Bedlam as it is such a beautiful album and should not be unheard !! ...

Advantages: Great to chill out... but great serious messages throughout Disadvantages: it can become very repatative
I would reccommend this to anyone. Its so refreshing to find an album that is written completely by the singer and has messages about world events and issues from the heart rather than it all just being about love love love all the time like so many singers sing about nowadays. I particuarly like 'no bravery' with its shocking lines such as 'Wives and daughters cut and raped' But he doesnt go over the top with his shocking or language and uses subtle ... ...Blunts voice has a very oringial sytle unlike any singer ive heard before. His voice has a chilling factor that makes it perfect for the kind of work he is doing.
The only downside i would give this album is that it can get repetative, which i find a shame as he has such a lot to say. Some songs can sound simular and i would have to admit that i do skip over 'your beautiful' because its been overplayed on the radio too much! ...

Advantages: an amazing album each song is as good as the last its an album that listening to it makes you feel good Disadvantages: the only bad point is that the album has so many amazing songs starting off the c.d that the end dosnt seem as impressive but thats hardly a problem because its so good
A few months back before Mr. Blunt built up a big reputation i saw this c.d and bought it, i popped it into the c.d player and could not belive my ears what an album every song as good as the last the lyrics are so well written and his voice is amazing.
The album starts off with his song called high then moves onto his number 1 song bueatiful and the rest of the songs that follow are so good i am listening too it as im writing this and i dont think ... ...track is the 4th track called goodbye my lover which is just amazing its sang so well.
something that all c.d's need is for the c.d to have the lyrics of the songs and when there as good as this reading throught them is as good as listening.
any one who dosent own this album yet should go now and get it, trust me you'll love it its £10 well spent. ...

I personally loooove James blunt. *not looks wise* i think he has such a unique and amazing voice. And this album is certainly a must have!! but you can only listen to them when your in a certain mood, like in a thoughtful/semi depressed state. The song 'you beautiful' im sure you've all heard as it was played to death on the radio which i thnk ruined it a bit. but 'goodbye my lover' is definately my favorite, and it reminds me of a certain time ... ...time. A must have in anyones music collection. I've listened to it so many times. and each time deffinately gets me to think about it, and wonder. If your the kind of person that loves a good old cry when you've been dumped or if just feeling a bit down or thoughtful, this is thee album for you!! ...

Advantages: Its a latest album for the collection Disadvantages: can sound repetitive
I have to admit i found this album a bit boring. I only bought it because of the release Your Beautiful. This has to be one of the best songs in along time. James croaky tones work perfectly, and particulary replacing the word flying high, with f"£$king high.
However, the rest of the album i found boring and repetitive. One song merges into the next and i found myself either having Your Beautiful on repeat or skipping the other tracks.

...decide to buy the album back to bedlam since buying the album I am a big fan there is so much feeling in his music. After listing to the album I have took an interest in his life after listening to is music I realised that their must be more to his music. The talented singer songwriter is speaking from personal experience.
