Tragic Pie Review ofBe Here Now - Oasisby

Advantages: 5 Good tracks, still displaying that Oasis verve and sparkle Disadvantages: 7 Not so good ones, tired, complacent and reeking of arrogance
...sounding...a track that deserved to be a single, I think it received an outing in Australia.
'Be Here Now' is another plain irritating track that you might as well be listening to down the Dog and Duck on a Saturday night. Pub rock crap, for the sake of a 50 minute album just look at what could have been jettisoned from this album. That brings us to the execrable 'All Around the World'. This novelty Beatles rip-off is an insult to the fab four, ...

Advantages: best song included in the album. Disadvantages: none
This album is my favourite simply because it includes the greatest oasis song they have done so far - don't go away, a truly brilliant song. Other good songs on the album include, magic pie and stand my me. All true Oasis fans will of course know this but i thought i would just let people know one of the many milions of fans favourite songs. This album actually does not include the largest amount of my favourite songs, but is still the best. The words ...

Not too bad Review ofBe Here Now - Oasisby
Doobster
Advantages: Simplicity, Vocals Disadvantages: Lyrics, doesn't compete with the first two albums
Now Be Here Now is an album that was hammered by the critics, and since he has been clean from drugs, Noel Gallagher has certainly been critical of this album. I don't blame him, because he's the songwriter of Britain's most important guitar band and you've got to have high standards, but overall, Be Here Now is definetley listenable and has a few high points. If this was made by another, lesser known band i'm sure it would have been critically acclaimed. ...

Advantages: A couple of classic tracks Disadvantages: Every song over-produced and most substandard self-parodies
In the middle of the 1990s Oasis brought us two of the most outstanding albums in the history of popular music. Then they released 'Be Here Now'. Few bands have fallen from grace quite so quickly in terms of quality. This album was recorded with almost exactly the4 same line-up and back room staff employed in the making of the excellent '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?)'. It is longer, with more guitars, more stings, more production, but zit really ...

Advantages: It's Oasis! great music lives up to their standard Disadvantages: none i don't think
...a kind!
I would say that Be Here Now is the bands best album so far, with great songs such as " Stand By Me", "Magic Pie" and "D'ya Know what I mean?"
After going to the Oasis concert in the Summer at Bolton, I realised how good the band were and how fantasic there music is.
Be Here Now is a great album and has sold millions of copies worldwide.
There most recent album "Standing on the shoulders of giants" I would say isn't as good as their previous ...

Advantages: Three top 10 singles Disadvantages: Poor planning, too long
With both ‘Definitely Maybe’ and ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory’ being number one albums, it is no surprise to see Oasis’ third, ‘Be Here Now’ do the same.
D’You Know What I Mean – Great albeit flawed number one hit single for an opening track. Begins with the humming of a helicopter gradually getting louder with the instruments being added in slowly. The verses in this song are impressive, ...

Advantages: Lots of really great music Disadvantages: some songs drag on a little
...minutes is along time to be listening to it. Later oasis albums also have a lot of credit, songs such as "masterplan", "some might say", "cast no shadow" "wonderwall" or "rock and roll star" are all very good but in my opinion the best oasis songs are on this first album. I belive that this album could go down in history as the best oasis ablum and therefore one of the best albums of all time. Though many people may now concider this album out dated ...

Advantages: Still got some of the Oasis charm Disadvantages: Not as good as one had hoped
This CD by Oasis is unlike the ones they've done in the past. 'Be Here Now' is the result of Noel Gallagher's different writing techniques and therefore doesn't hit the spot the same way as 'Definately Maybe' and 'WTSMG' did. Oasis have received mixed opinions on this album and although my opinions seem a little negative, it is still a brilliant album with songs like 'Dya Know What I Mean?', 'Fade In Out' and 'Its Getting Better (Man!!)'. I would ...

...critics n what seemed to be a backlash more dependent on knocking oasis of their pedestals rather that criticising the music itself. this is a fine album and has some good scarf waving tunes. it is definitely in the shadow of the two albums that go before but equally it has some fine brush strokes of originality. "Don't go away" can make any grown man cry and track 4 is a great oasis stadium filler. the criticism which has surrounded this album has ...

Advantages: one or two good tracks Disadvantages: the rest
It was always going to be difficult for Oasis to follow Definitely Maybe and Whats The Story with another storming album, and so it proved. A car in a pool and a clock without a face on a bizarre front cover give the impression of a rather bizarre album, and that's basically what Be Here Now is.
The major fault was choosing the wrong tracks to release as singles, "D'You Know What I Mean?" is a good album track but when released on it's own did ...

Advantages: it's not a copy of their idles...lennon and co!! Disadvantages: don't go and buy it now becuase it's even more expensive than when it first came out
After the world-conquering glories of ...."Definitely Maybe"... and
...."What's The Story Morning Glory" this 1997 release saw Noel
Gallagher treading water.
Despite previous Beatle copyists accusations, it was "Be Here Now" that finally saw Noel's Fab Four fixation wear a little thin...(thank goodness!)
The Girl In The Dirty Shirt, for
instance, could have been lifted from The Beatles 1968 White
album.
More revealingly, Fade In Fade ...

Advantages: Good number of good songs Disadvantages: some songs are too long
This is not the best Oasis album of all, but it is still darn good. It contains the number 1 single, d'you know what I mean, and the brilliant, but long, All around the world.
It is 12 twelve tracks long. My only critisism of the album is that some of the songs are very long indeed. All around the world is 9 minutes long and each song averages about 6 or 7 minutes each. Some of the guitar solos from noel gallagher are brilliant though.
The ...

Advantages: good songs Disadvantages: songs too long
Be here now can be summed up with two words, 'too' and 'long'. Perhaps it was Noel Gallagher, who wanted this album to be the be all and end all of rock albums, and oasis' masterpiece, because this whole thing reeks of his own poor production techniques. up to Be here now, oasis' albums had been getting longer and longer, starting with the quite long definitely maybe, which debuted Noel's iritating habit of repeating a riff ad infinitum at the end ...

A 74 minute cocaine album is what the press called it. I call it a 74 minute masterpeice.
I'm probably the only one who prefers this slightly over the other amazing album WTSMG. But i don't care.
From the spinning blades on the helicopter of D'You Know What I meen to the slamming of the door on the reprise of All Around the world this album leads you through beutiful ballads (Don't Go Away), Full Piece Orchestras (All Around The World), Rock ...
