Advantages: Good thrash music! Disadvantages: Not as brilliant as in the pub!
Tankard are German masters of thrash and their 2004 album harks back to their hey day, they still sing plenty about booze but not quite as much as in the past.
Die with a Beer in Your Hand is probably the catchiest lyrically but Horde is also quite Power Metal in style. Whilst Tankard always sounds top-notch after a few ales or in a metal/rock pub or club, reviewing them dry and alone it appears that whilst there is plenty to like about them they ... ...Megadeth.
On this album we see Andreas Gerima's vocals screeching to a state of insanity almost - which would be more something you'd expect to find on a track by Macabre. The production is rather clear and it does seem that Tankard have matured quite a bit in their later albums, as it is almost 25 years since their humble beginnings as heavy drinking school kids!
