This album was released in 1975 during the break up of his first marraige, and was the first and best of a triumvirate of excellent albums that Dylan released in the 1970's , the others being "Desire" and "Streert Legal". In fact it's between this and "Blonde on Blonde" for his best album ever. Some people see this as Bob's finest LP. I really can't decide which I like best- it's certainly different to his earlier, more acoustic work, alhough still with the unmistakable Dylan seal of quality. The songs on the album were all written about his recent divorce, and deal with breakning up, lurve, etc. So how is it different from any other album you might say? Blood on the Tracks is one of the two all time classic Dylan albums (the other being Blonde on Blonde). Released in 1975 it saw yet another peak in his amazing career, with Desire released the following year. Whereas instead of the political songs of his early career, Blood on the Tracks saw Dylan releasing an album full of songs about love. This is the third time I have bought this album, the first on vinyl, second on CD and now on SACD. This is one of Dylans best, the lyrics are superb, poetry that only Dylan can write. For example, the lyrics on buckets of rain (1:28 into the track), and I quote. " I Like The Cool Way You Look At Me......Every Thing About You Is Bringing Me Misery". Just wonderfull.
