...you are damned,
In this brave new world"
Chorus is dynamic, but very repetitive and a tad uninspired. Other than that, excellent.
4. 'Blood brothers'
Written solely by Steve Harris, it is apparently a tribute to his late father, and it is a worthy tribute. Another lovely reflective opening melody, with strangely un-Maiden lyrics;
"And if you're taking a walk through the Garden of Life,
What do you think you'd expect you would see?"
Multi-layered ... ...the world, questioning existence, and prayer. A well-crafted epic, unlike the 'Maiden sound' in parts, but that just adds to it's appeal. An emotional song from Harris, it hits all the right notes.
5. 'The Mercenary'
Dynamite riffage here, with more testosterone than a charging bull! Good lyrics, but chorus is so repetitive, it gets quite irritating.
6. 'Dream of Mirrors'
This is the song that 'Deja Vu' (from the 'Somewhere in time' album) should ...

Brave New World, as many of you may know, is the title of one of Aldous Huxley's most famous novels, or indeed, the most striking. I read it when I was 14 and it is one of the few novels whose details I can still recall extremely well.
The cover of "Brave New World" depicts a view of London, with London Bridge in the foreground and lots of "modern" looking buildings, as one may imagine ... ...until you see…."
Brave New World is a seriously beautiful song. It starts ever so calmly, again with guitars and bass and some cymbals… and when you get to the chorus, the volcano explodes. The melodies blend perfectly well with the lyrics, but then again most of Iron Maiden's songs marry music with lyrics with a talented harmony.
"Dying Swans, twisted wings,
Beauty not needed here,
Lost my love, lost my life, In this garden of fear,
I have ...

Brave New World – This is the title track (obviously) and like Ghost of the Navigator is a very melodic tune, which to me indicates that Maiden aren’t finished yet

...the album, only narrowly beating Brave New World out of the top 3.
8/10
~ Brave New World ~
The songs title track is a good one. It starts off boring and somber, but eventually picks up with brilliant guitar and excellent vocals by Mr. Dickinson.
The worst part about the song is the start and end (which are both the same). If it wasn't for them, the song would be a classic.
The chorus is the best part of the song by mile with Bruce chanting ... ...it.
This was also a song which got a loud shout from the Maiden faithful.

~ Blood Brothers ~
A good song, but not outstanding by any means. It all just seams a bit dull for me, with very little life, apart from the chorus, which is the highl;ight of the song.
The guitar in this is very pedestrian and just kind of sinks into the background during the song.
Even Bruces voice doesn't seam as good as usual on this track.
Still, ...

...Bruce uses his voice well.
Brave New World
This is class not the best song on the album but it has a cool chorus which is seriously powerful.
Blood Brothers
A long flowing song, classic lyrics its one of my personel fav's on the album.
The Mercenary
Extremely fast with my favourite solo of the whole album on it, once again Bruce delivers with his astounding voice.
Dream Of Mirrors
The best song on the album and one of the best they've done. ... ...keeps up is a mystery to me!!
Its powerful and fulfilling.
The Fallen Angel
I think this should be released as a second single from the album. Its fast and short enough to get air play on the radio. Some brilliant lyrics.
The Nomad
It took me a couple of listens to really get into this one. It is good but it has to be my least favourite on the album.
Out Of The Silent Planet
Screams brilliance from beginning to end. A classic chorus going ...

Advantages: Lots of good tracks, lots of classic Maiden and an album to suit all1 Disadvantages: More tracks could be on the album! The more Maiden, the better!
As i have said in a few of my previous opinions, i am not really a rock fan, but again, i have to conceed that this is a supreme album and is probably up there with Maiden's greatest stuff!
The album starts with 'The Wicker Man'. A classic Maiden track with heavy guitar and drum beats with some good lyrics, a great way to kick start the album.
The next few tracks are again classic Maiden. With 'Ghost Of The Navigator' and the album name 'Brave ... ...with 'Brave New World' being one of Maiden's few softer tracks on the album.
With the middle tracks being 'Blood brothers', 'The Mercenary', 'Dream Of Mirrors', 'The Fallen Angel', 'The Nomad' and 'Out Of The Silent Planet', we see a mixture of heavy and calm Maiden.
The closing track is the forever classic 'The Thin Line Between Love And Hate'. One of Maiden's lighter tunes, yet still a great song.
Overall in the album, we see a mixture of soft ...

Advantages: A solid album Disadvantages: no real disadvantages
Brave New World heralded the return of iron maiden heroes, Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith to the line up, and this reunion has provided one of maidens best albums to date. The guitar is fast paced and impressive, the songs are eear threatening and well composed, while Dickinsons voice, as ever, is dramatic and fabulous. Its a rare change in the heavy metal world, for a metal singer to have such a fantastic voice, and rather than only having to ... ...like an extra instrument. This album though, isn't REALLY heavy, like, say Alice coopers "Brutal Planet". It is however, a thoroughly sound Rock album, every song is a good one. The Wicker man is a heavy, fast paced song with a brilliant chorus, and Fallen Angel is another great rock song, which seems to borrow musical elements from Thin Lizzy's "Emerald", and Black Sabbaths "Children of the Grave". Of special mention are my two favourites, Dream ...

...Blaze so Bruce comes back. Brave New World is a success.
Iron Maiden were my first metal band. I was at the time dating a lass in Liverpool and on the way up on the train my tape ran out so I listened to Radio 1 as I was pulling into Liverpool Station. 3 - Brave New World (7/10)
"Dying swans, twisted wings, beauty not needed here" starts it off and it is pretty much the same throughout. Quite enjoyable although it doesn't stand out.
4 - Blood Brothers (8/10)
Rumored to be the 3rd single though did not materialize, in the UK at least. The song is good although it is a little bit soppy. 5 - The Mercenary (7/10)

Advantages: Almost as good as their classics Disadvantages: Not quite their best work
After hearing Iron Maiden's new single - "The Wicker Man" - the album had to be purchased as well. With Maiden now as an unprecedented 6-piece - Adrian Smith having returned to the band as well as Bruce Dickinson - there are no barriers to new world domination for them. Well, almost.
That magnificent single kicks things off, then a typically Maidenesque title of "Ghost Of The Navigator" provides the same, familiar Maiden beat. It even mentions "chasing ... ..."Dying swans, twisted wings, Beauty not needed here" heralds the "Brave New World" of the title, then "Blood Brothers" brings a mellower sound. "The Mercenary" strays into Motorhead territory with "Iron Will, Iron Fist". Lyrically that is, not musically. "Dream Of Mirrors" again starts quietly, but builds dramatically with its profound comment that "I only dream in black and white to save me from myself". Nico's drumming here is, as always, superb.

The latest new album features a return to form for the eastb end rockers.
This must be due to the return of both ruce Dickinson and drian smith.
Dickinsons voice adds to the music and his phrasing fits the riffs perfectly.
Adrian Smith add something even more important. He has the ability to add variety to the music. I have been watch Adrian for Many years. (including before Maiden in Urchin and Evil ways)

This is more like the album we should be able to expect every time from a band as talented and experienced as Iron Maiden.
Bruce being back in Iron Maiden is a welcome event. Their sound and his voice work so well together, and althought there were one or two tracks on the previous two albums, it wasn't the same without Dickinson.
This album contains all of Iron Maiden's hallmark's beefed up by the extra guitar now that Adrian Smith has rejoined ... ...something they like on this album.
Stand out tracks for me are "The Wicker Man" and "Out of the Silent Planet" but I don't think there is a track on this album that is completely without merit. Advantages: A return to greatness for this legendary band Disadvantages: Songs can be a bit long, but IM fans won't care
I hadn't been keeping up with the metal world last year when I noticed on the rack that there was a new Maiden album featuring - what? - Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith?!!? So, having a little extra cash (and a recommendation from the guy at the store), I brought "Brave New World" home.
After hearing this album, I have vowed to never write off another "washed-up" band ever again.
This is the best Iron Maiden album since 1988. "Brave New World" ... ...CD collection. As a long-standing Maiden fan, my prayers have been answered with this album.
Bruce Dickinson is in fine voice, Steve Harris breezes through with his signature bass patterns, and has rediscovered his songwriting skills. The triple guitar attack used here is not always obvious to the ear, but at times it shines through nicely. The songs are meaty and long, maybe a bit too long but most Iron Maiden fans won't even notice.
