The Bridget Jones sountrack. Well, it's made up of 19 songs. Some are older than me, (though I am only 16, so it's not that amazing). Some are from the late 90s, early 00s (do you call is 00s? I never know). Some are fast, some slow. Some about being happily in love; others about coping with a broken heart. It is a mixture of everything, really. Because of that, it suits everyone a little. There are songs on the album that I know and love, but there ... ...more than the others, to Bridget and Mark. They were both waiting to meet someone like the other one, and then they did. It's a slow song - good for a slow dance, and it's very romantic.
10. Robbie Williams - Not of this earth

...in buying the soundtrack for Bridget Jones’ diary. I had an Amazon voucher, and nothing to spend it on therefore it seemed like the best solution! It certainly was! I’m a big, big fan of soul music, and Aretha Franklin is certainly an all time favourite of mine. Her originality is fantastic, and her voice is absolutely outstanding. So, when I heard she was on the CD it was an added bonus. “Oh and one last thing…The sound track was excellent they fitted great music in at every possible opportunity… All by myself, It’s raining men, Respect, Have you met Miss Jones, I’m every woman and much much more, I might buy the sound track it’s that good.”
And I was told that wouldn’t do as a way as a review ... ...with the characters, for example Bridget Jones was singing along with All By Myself, the music was always relevant and fitted the story perfectly it wasn’t like background music it was part of the film.
However it would still be an excellent CD whether or not you’ve seen the film. Look at the track list see what you think, but it’s a great easy listening CD, whether you’re on your own, messing around singing with friends, ...

...the film is. Not that Bridget Jones's Diary is a bad film, but the fact is you don't have to have endured the 90 minute laugh-fest to enjoy this truly magnificent and eclectic soundtrack.
The album eases you in with the huge Gabrielle hit "Out Of Reach". Anyone who ever loved and lost will totally identify with this track, which makes it a total winner. That and Gabrielle's heart-fealt emotion she puts into the song, and the croaky vocals that give ... ...to another, we are offered a classic song from Aretha Franklin. "Respect". This song pretty much captures the mood of the film throughout. It's about being a woman and demanding up-most!

...seen it of course. The Bridget Jones Diary soundtrack has been released and they all feature within the film to a greater or lesser extent. There is a mix of old records and newer stuff and some up tempo and inevitably for a girlie film a fair few ballads. Some songs work better than others, Geri Halliwell’s uninspiring version of Its Raining Men is here and this is nowhere near as joyous as the original. I personally love Gabrielle’s ... ...to get better with every album and every track she releases. Whether she will ever get to be up there with Aretha Franklin is another matter but the classic Respect is included. For different reasons I also like Sheryl Crow and she pops up with ‘Kissin That Girl’. There are a couple of Shelby Lynne tracks ‘Killin Kid’ and ‘Dreamsome’ and I confess to never having heard her before, in this company she is swamped. ...

Bridget Jones - a sensation to sweep our nation. No longer do we have articles saying something was very good, the hip and trendies have to say "v. good" in Bridget Jones Language. I’ve even caught some people trying to indocrinate me with it by sending me text messages full of v.v. goods.
Personally, I have to say, I hated to book with a passion, I hated everything that she went on about - having spent so many years trying to get my friends ... ...wanted to see it (apparently Bridget Jones reminds him of his sister) - so my arm was twisted.
From the moment the movie started, ‘til the minute it ended, I was transfixed - surely this couldn’t be the same story?! And then I realised, it was the music, that’s what made it for me. From the opening "All by myself" sequence to the "It’s raining men" fight sequence.
I just had to get that album. But I had to wait a week before ...

Well, enough of the "Jones-speak", what ... ...It's very good. Simple as that. There's only really one song that I think doesn't work, and I thought the same thing when I saw the film at the cinema, but I'll get to that later. For this album I think it's only fair to do a track-by-track review.
1. Gabrielle - Out of Reach
The album starts with Gabrielle's self-contemplating song. This is one of the two songs most closely connected with the film, and makes a nice soulful start to the proceedings.

...I saw the film of Bridget Jones’s Diary, I enjoyed the soundtrack, and decided that if it were available on CD I would buy. Luckily, in my local Woolworth store the following week I saw a copy, and bought it.
But what made me want to buy this soundtrack, when I normally don’t bother with any sound track. The last one I bought was ‘Grease’! Well, Bridget Jones’s Diary is an excellent film, and the music is appropriately ... ...Jamie O’Neal, was song when Bridget was feeling slightly sorry for herself with half a bottle of v odka, and miming the words to the song. While “its raining men” by Geri Halliwell, was song when a fight broke out in a restaurant. All in all a great movie and a fabulous soundtrack

...working on the tracks for bridget jones was to sing sinatra type songs. i rate rob's song here highly commendable for diversification on pre-released material. 5. i'm every woman - chaka khan. like aretha, this diva's vocals add power to this album. the song inspired whitney houston and when you hear it, there is no way it will ever date. i think that the beauty lies in the simplistic yet direct quality of a woman to adapt to make her man happy. ... ...think this song is about the 'dazzle' side of love. I think the sounds are like a moving train, fast yet channeled in the right direction. A hit 4 me. 7. Kiss That Girl - Sheryl Crow. A grungy song and by a reputable artist. ...if you have never seen Bridget Jones this is still an album you should buy,it has all the great songs on under one roof.
You can pick it up for about a fiver now which for 19 songs is pretty good value I think.
Definately not an album you will regret buying, I think every song has been carefully picked and used,from artful dodgers woman trouble to the pretenders dont get me wrong,this soundtrack has alot to offer and much more. I found that there ... ...(with the exception of the badly covered track by geri halliwell ! )

...recently saw the film, The Bridget Jones' Diary at the cinema. The film was great and I totally loved the soundtrack so i thought I'd have a look for it in the shops and see how much it cost etc.
So I went down to my local Asda and ran to the CD section. My eyes scanned the shelves and eventually found the amazing soundtrack. It was quite easy to find because it was near the top of the chart and the cover is white with a big picture of Bridget. ... ...that are on the CD.
In all there are a total of 19 songs, all very good of course! The first track is the gorgeous song, Out Of Reach by Gabrielle then followed is Aretha Franklin's Respect then comes my most favourite track on the CD.....It's Raining Men by the great Geri Halliwell. I think it's going to hit the number one slot this week, it's a brilliant song for the film and Geri sings it so well!
There are two very good songs by Robbie Williams ...

...endless. I went to see Bridget Jones after reading the two books and it was just as good, if not better! I really thought that it would be some "chick" movie that all the girls would rave about and all the guys would moan about but I found that men were finding it hilarious and really enjoying it as much as I was. Of course, after seeing the film and reading the books I had to buy the CD. I first listened to it driving in my car and it was great, ... ...dance and have a good time, it was extremely uplifting and "happy". It was one of those CD's that you know a lot of thought has gone into it and that they have not just thrown it together with nothing to do at all with the storyline and all the best in names were up there, Robbie Williams, Aretha Franklin, Geri Halliwell (complete Icon), Sheryl Crow etc etc etc. I think that this CD is like a lipstick to all women, you should never go anywhere without ...

Advantages: Classic top tunes which bring the film to life. Plenty of songs to dance to or just lounge around to. Disadvantages: Geri Halliwell's version of 'It's Raining Men' which is terrible.
