Advantages: Soothing Disadvantages: After listening to a soothing one, the loud ones scare the hell out of you.
...Red Hot Chilli Pepper's album Californication has to be my favourite out of all of their music. It's much easier to listen to and more mellow. It is the sort of music you would lie on your bed listening to after having a hard day. The music styles vary. There are some tracks that are very rap like and some that are very soothing. I love their music. The lyrics are extremely deep and not cack like most music.

The guitars and drums in this piece are really nice, and relaxing, but he tries to rap and it really doesn't work. The verses are rapped, the chorus is sang. I know for sure that life is beautiful around the world.

Advantages: Chili's back on form, songwriting shines through Disadvantages: 1 or 2 weak tracks
After 1991's 'Bloodsugarsexmagik', the Chili's became mega famous. The album threw them into rocks big boy league with hits such as 'Give it away' and 'Under the bridge.' This fame however was too much for their phenomenal guitarist John Frusciante to deal with, and he left the band in the middle of their biggest tour to date.
In 1995, while the band were still struggling to cope with various drug addictions, they bought in ex-Jane's addiction guitarist ... ...minute.' The album wasn't very well recieved, despite being in my opinion very good, if a little dark. Navarro was unhappy in the band and left, causing most Chili's bands to fear that the end was in sight for them...
So imagine the delight of myself and all the Chili's fans in the world, when ex drug-addled guitarist Frusciante is saved from nearly killing himself and brought back into the band 8 years after making the album of their lives! I was ...

Well where to start, TRHCP are a hard band to review, especially there albums just which one to go for! So I went with the one and only californication! This is a classic of there greatest work, with the much acclaimed song scar tissue, even if u don’t know the band this song will be in the back of your mind and you will be like *hey im sure I have heard that somewhere!* With its mellow start off and drums, ... ...With Anthony Keidis on vocals with his very plush body and interesting use of tattoos one of which a tribal motif along his arm and a large set of Indian style wings on his back. Flea- unmistakeable with his outrageous hair, which had been blue for many years, and tattoo body just as interesting as Anthony . Chad smith- on drums and what a player he is! John fractionate on guitar good old him! Not much comment on those two im afraid! Not big characters ...

These topless gym addicts have once again produced another amazing album. This one is so good it would definitely be a contender for the best rock album of all time if such an award existed.
There isn?t one bad song on the whole of this album that would have made it incredibly difficult to select which sings to release as singles. However, Rick Rubin (the producer) and the band did well choosing to release All Around the World, Scar tissue, Otherside, ... ...is my favourite song from the album but it?s probably one of Scar tissue, Easily, Porcelain or Road Trippin?.
Scar Tissue and Easily use the same sort of music that has made the Chillies one of the best Rock bands around. Scar Tissue has one of my favourite lyrics on the album actually it?s a whole verse. It?s the one that goes, Soft spoken with the Broken jaw, Step outside but not to brawl, Autumns sweet we call it Fall, I?ll make it to the moon ...

...i have to say that californication is one of my faveraites. Red hot chilli peppers are a funk band and californication are there 7th album. the ablum, i think, is totally different to all of their others (i.e. out in l.a. and freaky style) as it is way more to the side of acoustics drums and bass guitar. i think californication is the most rockified album they have released and is aimed more at the rapidly expanding market of soft, acoustic music.
... ...this track starts as it means to go on - a fantastic guitar intro that is consistent throught out the song. this song goes on about life around the world,the songs also implores the listener to " come back baby coz i like to say, i been around the world from bombay" this could tell the story of a travel hungry guy/girl who has abandoned their lover for travelling.

Californication is another great album from one of the giants of the rock world. Many of these tracks are superb, and all are good quality. The chilis have proved that they can appeal to the masses - already two singles from the album have entered the UK chart. They have struck a balance between pleasing their regular fans and diversifying to win over new fans. The guitar playing is solid as usual, and the vocals are good, but Flea's bass playing ...

Californication is The red hot chilly peppers latest offering and I don’t think it will disappoint. Scar Tissue is the reason I bought this album and believe me it was worth it just for that – I don’t mean to say that the other songs are not (in the main) equally brilliant. Californication by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers has definitely got to be one of the best albums of the past few years. After being introduced to it by friends on our regular so called "games" lessons I have to admit I have become a complete addict. With quality songs such as otherside (my personal favourite) and scar tissue you cannot find a better album to chill out with your mates to. Being around since the mid-eighties, The Red Hot Chili Peppers have obtained legendary status with musical delights such as 'Under The Bridge' and their albums 'One Hot Minute' and 'Blood Sex Sugar Magik' which really are brilliant if you like that type of music and who could forget their sensational tour in the red square of Moscow... So with their latest Album 'Californication' all expect more of the same.
Unfortunately you can't always get what ... ...four tracks start the album exceptionally with 'Around the world', 'Parallel Universe', 'Scar Tissue' and 'Otherside' However with the exception of incomparable songs like 'Californication', 'Easily' and 'Road Trippin' the album begins to go hay-wire. It possible to accuse the album of being too 'funky' with 'Get On Top (Quite possibly the most annoying song apart from The Rocks solo debut) or too 'flat' with Porcelain, this song nothing more than ...

Advantages: With four Top 30 singles, it is easy to listen to and could turn anyone into a fan. Disadvantages: The only disadvantage is even in the sales in the shops, its still £9.99 (or there abouts).
Its been 4 years since their last release 'One Hot Minute' and have since seen the departure of Ex-Janes Addiction Guitarist Dave Navarro. With John Frusciante back at the helm on guitar....they've done it again.
This album is just pure chili pepper. It has everything, Flea's(Bassist)funky grooves, Chad's (Drums)tub thumping (and often mellow) beats, John's (Guitar)melodic riffs and of course Anthony (Vocals) blessing the microphone with his lyrics ... ...called it, "pure Flea energy" as the intro to 'Around the World' kicks in and gets your brain in gear. This flows into a beautiful chorus that is as catchy as a cold. Following this you are presented with such tracks as 'Parallel Universe', 'Emit Remmus' and 'Easily' which are all, in their own way, masterpeices.
Then you have the tracks that glide through your ears. The obvious one, their first single from the album, is 'Scar Tissue'. Its a cracking ...

Yes, its official, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are still as good as ever with their new album Calafornication. But this time they've moved slightly away from their funk rock style that made them so big in the early nineties and shown us their more mellow and thoughtful side. Anyone doubting their ability to do this should listen to songs like "Otherside", "Californication" and the fantastic "Scar Tissue". If you liked "Under the Bridge" and "My Friends" ...

I'm not a huge Red Hot Chilli Peppers fan, at least i wasn't until i bought this. When i heard the multitude of wonderful singles released from this CD i knew that i had to buy it. It was a decision i don't regret. The singles are brilliant, everyone knows trhat, but the other songs are good too, the RHCP's diversity really comes through. Advantages: Lots Of Heartstopping tracks! Disadvantages: Two poorer songs!
...with a funky tune. Otherside, Californication and of course Scar Tissue are the main heartstopping tracks. Scar Tissue is a nice soft mellow track with Otherside and Californication with heavier guitar parts.
This Velvet Glove is another sure to be classic as its very similar to Scar Tissue in style.
I feel there are a couple of poorer songs in the album. I like dirt and Porcelain are not in the same class as the other songs i feel.
